POS + Payments + Website recommendations

We are considering starting a small hardware/DIY shop and would appreciate it if you could share your experiences (positive or negative) about point of sale (POS) systems, payment methods, and website integration. I am looking for a POS system that can sync with website and accept both online and in-store payments (via card reader). I've been researching extensively but haven't found the perfect solution yet. Ideally, I am looking for something with a low subscription fee or no subscription fee at all. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I have a client who uses Trims POS and they have a VisualSoft website.

Trims integrates with all of the marketplace sites (Amazon, etc.) All sales including in-store are synced. Their VisualSoft website is awful which is how I got involved. I recommend Wordpress/Woocommerce as a website solution which integrates with Trims.

I'd suggest you spend money on the POS system and save money by using Woocommerce.

Add the online shop via WooCommerce
In the real shop, use a POS plugin for WooCommerce. One inventory system, so live stock, prices updated at the same time, global sales reporting.

You could then use an accounting plugin to pull it all together!!!!

We will only have one or two tills, so I don't see any reason to spend a lot on a POS system. Also we are not planning to sell on marketplaces. I had the opportunity to work with Loyverse (free) and it had all the necessary functionality. It was used without website sync and a barcode scanner, so I can't comment on these.

WooCommerce is probably the most logical choice as it integrates with almost everything.

This is one possible solution, but I'm not very keen about it. For example, if the website goes down for any reason, in-store sales will also be affected.

Should you lose internet (or site goes down) some of these EPOS plugins will still work remotely and then update the system when back online.

Does anyone have any experience with Square POS, Sumup POS, or Shopify POS?
