As a business owner looking to increase web traffic should i be signed up to a service like Semrush?

Not necessarily, depends on whether the tools will help you to achieve whatever you're working on.

There's loads of tools that help with all sorts of different areas of online marketing.

SEMrush will give you an insight into your organic visibility but then, so will Google Search Console which is free.

Not really able to provide much more relevant advice without knowing exactly what you hope to achieve. There's loads of different ways to increase traffic to your website.

SEMRush will only provide you with the stats, NOT the traffic. You still need to do all the legwork to actually promote your business.

However, SEMRush can help you with keyword research, so you can start creating content, blogs, and post them on the website. The secret is to create content that people are actually looking for.

Over time with the help of some backlinks that content can rank in google, plus you can use the same content to promote your business on social media.

Actually, speaking of traffic, I came across a great course from Ahrefs (SEMrush competitor), called Blogging for Business. It was a paid course as far as I know, but now, due to everything that's happening they made it public. You can find it on their Youtube channel, in the playlist section. It's a great course. I highly recommend it.

How long have you been using this for? Have you followed the Step-by-Step? have you seen any increases in traffic or business leads?

I had the free version with limited features for 2 weeks and then upgraded to Pro for all features, "objectives" is one of the best features as it tells you what is wrong and a tick box for when you complete each step.

Used it for about 4 weeks now.

Keyword rankings have improved greatly.

Usually, I go into Diib about ten times a day then use a VA to do the task is it is not too technical.

Best AI for Internet Marketing I have found.

Look, SEMRUSH is flipping AWESOME.
Support is solid.
Yeah it doesnt deliver traffic.
No it's not 100% accurate.
But it tells you how to get traffic and puts everything you need (almost) for beginner to intermediate and some advanced techniques in one place.

The only people who bad mouth SEMRUSH are competitors, morons or people who find what they need with combinations of alternatives.


The equation with any tool like this is 2 fold.
Does it give me the information I need to make a decision?
Does it save me time?

It's undoubtedly a feature rich suite of tools, many of which are super useful and I do like the guys over at SEMrush but I find the interface incredibly 'clunky' and difficult to navigate making it cost a lot of time to fully make use of and built into our workflows.

Might just be me (well, in fact I know it's not as I've heard others say it too) but the interface is laid out wrong. It would be good to see it have a complete UX overhaul. I think part of the problem is they're trying to cram too much into it.

I agree. Adding way too many things, new features, etc.. But the UI/UX was never designed for that. They should stop releasing new stuff and start improving what they already have.

E.g - I find it difficult to do a proper backlink analysis, so I'm kind of going back and forth between them and Ahrefs.

Agreed, UX is pretty poor across SEMRush, the older design used to be more friendly but as they've added more into it, it's not intuitive to use.
