What better place than the Time Out forum to post that I'm going to be taking some time out? I've chosen to not renew my paid membership but am also not going to be posting for a bit.

Sorry, but I've taken breaks before and it's time for another one.

I'll drop in now and again to see how you lot are getting on and how the ol' Wizard of Ozzy is faring with his masterplans to make UKBF the UK's main voice for small businesses to do all that stuff like influence government policy, stop war in Ukraine, eradicate coronavirus.

But don't expect regular service from me for the foreseeable future.

I write short paragraphs and I only write about 3,000 words a day on this laptop, though I do write other stuff on other PCs.

But I do agree with David Ogilvy - long copy sells!

LinkedIn. For those who know how to use it properly - a very small minority - it's a great platform.

Anyway, I'm well, and business is going great. Just closed a multi-million pound deal with a client of my friend Mark Eardley's Langcliffe International*. Another client of mine is in the final stages of sale for his £12m business through an (as yet unnamed) boutique investment bank and yet another client of mine (£1m+ EBITDA) is close to completing the sale of his business through Darren at Rafalie Corporate Finance*. I get commissions on all those deals. October is shaping up well
* Names provided for the benefit of those forum members who like to scream "bullsh*t" every few minutes.

I've just taken on several other clients - my range is £5m to £50m in turnover - for providing strategic advice and, hopefully, placing them with the right transaction advisory firm to take them to market / MBO / IPO. It's been manic.
