Amazon pop-up. Is it just me?

Recently o this site I’ve been getting an intensely annoying Amazon pop-up which can’t be closed. The only way I can return to the site is by closing it and re-opening

it might be relevant that I just stopped my subscription to Prime

is anyone else getting this?

I’m not very clever. Have one in PC but don’t know how to do it on my phone. It’s actually the first time I’ve had a problem

I have been having it as well over the last few days, also on my phone, which sadly has no adblocker.

Following Clinton’s advice though I knew I had a couple of condoms lying around so I’ve just popped the phone into one, and thus far no pop ups!

Makes typing a bit interesting, but at least I can visit the really mucky websites now without the fear of catching e-chlamydia.

Yes happening to me also but only on the phone.

I reported it to Mods as well and Ray said it was to do with third party ads or something. They’re looking into it.

Also my IP has been blocked a couple of times too which I reckon is connected, but I’ve not had that confirmed yet.

Yesterday was such a fight with the Amazon pop up that UKBF was unusable.

It would be hard to get rid of some of us long term users, especially as outwith the holidays I mostly use my PC, but I can imagine this would put off a lot of potential new users.

I am using Avast and it has found 11 different tracking systems, 2 social tracking, 7 ad tracking and 2 web analytics tracking systems. I have given ukbusinessforums a thumbs up for "do you trust this site?"

I've had a few pop ups from this site, but I think its mainly from the ads on the left hand side. Do your pop ups come from the bottom? Maybe have a look in your browser settings to see if you can block pop up ads.

It's back. Sometimes between 10pm on Saturday and 7am Sunday.

Can't tell you what adverts I see as the popup displays almost as soon as the page loads.

@Ray Newman - it's going to affect your income as people will leave and not return.

I've flagged it with the IT administrators but it seems to be something only third-party ad providers can sort.

They're fighting a whack-a-mole battle with ad hijackers and it impacts some really big media sites, not just smaller ones like UKBF.

What can help, in my experience, is clearing your cookies and cache so you might get served different ads.

I have no problem at all with people advertising/ selling to me - it’s how business works - but this is just a downer at all levels.

How many hoops did they make you jump through to do that. I just cancelled my free trial and one of the options was "extend free trial" with small lettering under the big button explaining that it actually meant paying when the free trial finishes in a few days. That was just one of three "are you sure" pages I had to click a button on.

Try deleting Amazon cookies, or all cookies.
