Apparently the DIY industry is booming with people being at home, any other sectors busy right now?

Marketing generally has gone crazy. Anyone who's any good is making a killing.

Specialist craft supplies. It's always our busiest months Jan to Easter but this year is exceptional. We did get some expert help with Amazon marketing last year and that's paying off now so its some covid trade, some seasonal trade and focus on marketing too is why it's happening now. I expect it to calm down after Easter though.

Bicycle and fitness equipment manufacturers and retails. You couldn't get a running machine for love nor money a few months ago.

My Hermes driver has a Ferrari van - or maybe that's less Covid and more my wife's orders.

Model Railways. Lots of furloughed people regressing to their childhood.

Very close to being the best year for 4 years and only 2/3 through the year :)

DIY isn't what it was albeit still running stronger than you'd normally expect. It isn't a great time of the year for DIY, fewer outside jobs are done at this time of year with the cold weather and I would guess motivation to do much at all when the nights are long is also a factor. Easter is when DIY usually picks up significantly so be interesting to see if it is another bumper year.

Well done! Albeit that is not indicative of the market, the U.K. DIY market isn't 400% up, anecdotals aside its 20% ish up IMO. We're a toller to all and sundry including the major UK retailers and so I reckon we get a robust average for the industry across a wide portfolio of products with a wide range of customers (online and b&m). We were/are about 17% up which I would suggest is about what the industry by value has been doing post COVID.

Guy who makes signs in my town is inundated with work. He's employed extra staff and expanded a lot since last march. Combined bike/fishing/golf shop with work wear, signs etc workshop at the back.

The software bit of our business is doing very well indeed.

I hear that other businesses are experiencing something similar.

We have always only been online and direct to consumer. Last year was 331% increase YoY compared to 2019 and this year is ahead of that.
