Hi
@ava30, its not thing that i have used for marketing however i do allow certain website to send me notifications, (developers.google
and dot com /web/fundamentals/push-notifications/faq)
Is a good read before it gets in to the technical side of things, you can receive notifications even when your browser is closed on desktops as long as a broker service is running, chrome broker service tends to run on startup, however in some instances if chrome was to crash and not restart you might not receive the notifications.
What i do like when using chrome and an Android device is the ability to sync these across all devices, am pretty sure that would be the same on Apple as well.
I personally haven't found a use for them yet but thinking on the eCommerce side of things you could use it for delivery notifications, but pushpushgo looks interesting, if you are using ZenDesk they have a service called outbound.io which again provides some good integrations.
Would be interested as well to hear if anyone uses these services and also what for.
Tim.
