We would get Live Tracking and notification of approximate time of delivery. Now we get notification that your parcel is being prepared for delivery up to 7.30pm!

Since Parcelforce got into bed with the Royal Mail parcel tracking has hit a wall and I'm looking for feedback to see if this is a nationwide problem or a geographical issue?

I think it will be geographical. There are tours and RM has to (IMO) just tailor its tours to office hours. Their system works perfectly in our area. I cannot imagine any company staying at work until 19:30 hrs to receive a parcel! Our gates close at 5pm and anyone trying to deliver or visit or whatever after that time can go to hell.

It's not going to be perfect but remember you do have the facility on the app or online account to change a delivery time if you have nobody on site .

I'm not sure if the variations are graphical it's just one worldwide/Euro system

Recent experience suggests this aspect isn't working. Customer notified of 1-3pm delivery. Attempt made at 10am when not in. Requested drop off next day at local Post Office but not actioned 2nd attempt made to home and goods returned to depot with a no collections policy!

We are seeing the 4 hour timeslot, same as Royal Mail now. No live tracking or hour slot anymore.
    Not just us then:mad:

I'd switch to DPD but yesterdays delivery to us saw the driver take a photograph of a black hole with his GPS showing that he never even ventured onto the estate.

I've lost around 4 hours in the past week chasing deliveries and we only send out 2 or 3 a day!

    Anyone fancy a wager?

The urgent phantom delivery by DVD due yesterday was elevated to a position of higher status. The sender was assured that it would be with us by 2pm today and almost as if a divine power had become involved we received notification that it would arrive between 16.48 and 17.48:mad:

It's 17.33 and no sign, with tracking saying we are just 8 drops away.

I'm taking bets that it won't turn up. The prize? A 20lb farm fresh 'XMAS Bronze' Turkey delivered to your door by DPD, sometime around June😆

That's disappointing. I've always found DPD one of the better ones, at least around here.
Overall yes, they are one of the best when receiving parcels but try talking to somebody when you have a problem with the ability to solve an issue is zero.

The Turkey winning delivery I mentioned did actually arrive just before 6pm.
6 calls to DPD customer service by myself and the sender with guarantees of call backs that didn't materialise. Broken promises across 2 days. Not once have they ever responded favourably which is why I don't use them.

They (for me) have always been a level ahead of the others in the same category.
Just like every courier with drivers you get bad ones.
It's a volume game and looking at the bad %
If I buy a hot Pie I expect it to be hot and have cause for complaint if it's not. If I pay to send, or have delivered to me, a parcel that is down for next day delivery, I expect it to arrive on time or be given a reason why it won't, not be told that it's out for delivery when it's not.

I've worked in the industry and know that the importance of the contents and the absolute need for on time delivery is lost in the system, that couriers are just box shifters who have no concern that businesses like mine that pull in some hired help to do a job, end up paying for 3 days labour and not the one as intended. I'd like to see legislation that penalises them in the same way it does the Post Office. Better still I'd like to sue for the inconvenience.:)
