In truth, I am of Dinosaur heritage, it simply baffles me that an item on Vinted can have 53 likes yet not sold.

The only conclusion i can come to is that Its like some kind of modern day virtual equivalent of women window shopping and liking things in several shops and then going to another to buy.

Does my head in, if I want something I either buy it or i don't, I don't go liking items in online shops and then not buying - what's that about?

What a crazy world we now live in

People buy likes in the misguided belief it will encourage something. And there are bots that automate the whole likes thing. It’s all a con.

I'd guess it's people liking several variants of the same thing, then using the "like" feature to be able to find it later. I "like" things on Twitter (or X, formerly known as Twitter if you prefer) that I want to go back and read later. Once I've read them, I remove the like so I'm not confused later. It tends to be videos or links to bigger articles that I don't have time to read/watch there and then.

    Thanks @MikeJ
I agree with your logic, makes sense, Thanks.

Also, Interestingly, I found a reply today to a similar question someone posted on reddit, thought I would share it for anyone else selling items on Vinted Pro:-

Vinted isn’t just a buy and sell app, people will build a wardrobe on there to get a feel for what they want to buy/how they look then reference it back later. So they might favourite a cardigan or shirt, then look elsewhere for clothes that go with those items and end up with something different or just use it as a tool for their current wardrobe. Some people never intend to buy and just favourite items because they like them. Just relax! If it’s sitting there with 80 likes, someone will buy it eventually
