Laser Printer Samples

Hi there,
I am wanting to purchase a laser printer for home/business use. Probably nothing too major in terms of cost. - Maybe up to the value of £500.

I am wondering if anyone knows of any companies that will send me a sample print out of a few of their printers so I can see the quality of their printers.

I am asking because I have had a printer in the past (HP) that was "ok" but always seemed to have a line printed through the page every time I printed. I even complained and they sent a new printer, but this did the same thing. This was probably about 20 years ago so things have probably improved from back then.

Usage wise, it will be for everyday things like documents, photos etc, but I am also looking to use it for "crafting" such as hand made items like greeting cards, playing cards, posters etc. I'm not expecting professionally print quality, but something along the lines of "better than inkjet printing"

I know this may sound a bit on the "cheapskate" side of things, but looking for a printer to use for hand made craft items mainly, but my issue is, it's not really possible to "try before you buy" with printers. Or do companies actually allow you to make a sample print of a document?

Any thoughts would be great.

I appreciate many will say go to a professional printer, but I am looking to work in the above way instead of going to a local printer.

Thanks!

Maybe it was faulty? It doesn't sound like a benefit or a feature!

Buy the printer of what ir can do - a £100 laser printer is great, but probably mono. For pictures/photo's you need something much higher in quality.

Ok, then, offer some help here!!!

In my experience, modern inkjet technology has come a long way, so for someone switching from everyday documents to craft printing like cards, photos, and posters, it's actually a better fit than a laser printer. You're right that samples aren't common, which is why finding the right support offer is just as important as the device itself- response times, part repairs and a replacement machine agreement are all worth looking for.
