Hi there. I'm looking for a new web host with the following requirements:

- Shared hosting with Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP). Site management through cPanel or equivalent. I do not want a VPS, dedicated server, cloud hosting, or anything fancy - just a simple shared hosting package.

- Softaculous. OpenCart, the free version. I will be listing products, but I will not be taking payments via this website. I will connect my OpenCart to a live shop on a separate server. As I list products on my website, an extension will update the shop automatically.

- Softaculous. PHPBB Forum web application, so I can chat with customers.

- Budget: Up to £20.00 per month, including VAT.

- Monthly payments. No contract. No automatic recurring payments. I will pay manually each month at your payment portal.

- Human support via ticket system. No AI assistance. I have a few years of experience as a web developer, so I will require hardly any technical support.

- Plenty of databases.

- Plenty of email addresses.

- FTP

- SSH

All pretty standard for shared web hosting, but please make sure you can satisfy my requirements for human support, no contract, and no auto-recurring payments.

Thanks for your time.

A VPS is pretty simple to deal with and a lot of VPS hosts will offer preinstalls of LAMP and cPanel or similar. You get a LOT more for you money and no limits, and Linux is dead easy to maintain and update.

If you really want shared hosting If it does not need to be UK, its not a resource heavy and you are willing to pay separately for support I suggest nearlyFreeSpeech (pay as you go, so cheap for light requirements). If it does nee to be UK maybe Mythic Beasts.

Incidentally, you are aware of the current legal requirements if you run a forum? You can be liable for what users post so you need to be careful.

@SpriteScenes - does your current host offer all that on shared hosting? If so I’d stick with them as that’s quite a long wish list especially as you don’t want a contract.

On second thoughts, you could go direct to my host and get the storage you want on a monthly basis:
Kualo offer monthly plans - £10.99 +VAT for 30GB, 100 email accounts and 25 x 500 GB databases or if you need more, then slightly above your limit. You do get human responses, but I will say it is not as fast as it used to be.

We're OpenCart Gold Partners, offer hosting, and we meet all of the above.
