Good morning,
Last year myself and a friend were talking about the disgraceful quality of clothing that we had both purchased through multiple avenues and after a small amount of local research it was clear that there was a group of people who would happily pay that extra bit of money for better quality and longer lasting clothing. The idea was born and we quickly got down to planning and starting the business.
Over the last year my friend just didn't have the time to commit to such a venture so it was decided he would leave the business as a director. That now leaves myself and I am determined to make this a success.
Since 2016 I have focused on research and development of designs, finding the right manufacturer, the finishing of clothing and options around delivery to ensure that the clothing quality exceeds expectations as well as being able to turn over a small profit.
I have had two designs manufactured in small amounts (roughly 50 each) so I could see how the market reacts and I have had an overwhelming response even though one of the designs could have been altered slightly to improve its quality.
Yesterday I was in my local town wearing one of my designs when an independent shop asked where I had got it from. I told them about the brand and they were extremely interested in having the brand in their stores (they have four at the moment).
Money is tight for me as I am using personal money to fund this venture at the moment and any profit is being put straight back in to get more stock.
I currently sell on eBay, Facebook Market and various other online avenues. I'm also currently building the website which will be available shortly.
Now I'm at the stage of needing a small investment to allow me to order stock in quantities of more than 100 units which will bring down the manufacturing and shipping costs and allow me to get into more serious conversations with the local independent store as well as branching out to others; build an online presence and grow at a comfortable pace.
I have a Geordie Shore associate who is willing to model the clothing as well as a singer / songwriter which will increase the brands reputation.
