Hello,

I had a very interesting email today from a SEO training company in India. The training provider charges individuals to attend and learn about SEO whilst hiring them out to other businesses for less than $2 per hour.

The email I got was this;

"Hello,

SEO outsourcing with a difference!

We are not competing with your expertise in SEO filed; however we are helping you with our resources to deliver SEO projects at substantially less price.

Benefit hiring/outsourcing us!

We are SEO training company based in Delhi/India with number of trainees getting expert SEO training from us. We currently have more than 50 resources available to do submission projects on daily basis.

What difference we can make?

The Price $2 an hour!

40 directories in an hour

12 article an hour

25 bookmarking in an hour

And much more exciting options we can offer you! Just chat with us"

WOW, I wrote back to these guys asking for more information and they said they would sell articles to me for $1.5 each?? Anyone else been sent something like this? I know it's cheaper to live in India but they are CRA$EZiE prices! £1.20/£1.50 per hour.

Ha, just so you know, we are not looking to use them. I will ask them to make an article for demo purposes if anyone has any ideas what I should ask for?
Ask them to write an article about crytozooology, quantum tangling, gravitons, DNA splicing, mesozoic flora or any other really complex subject.

Likelyhood is all you will get is a reworded wikipedia thing.

I'm currently asking these guys for an article for crytozooology, let's see how far my $1.5 streches with this article - will post it on here once they have done it.

What get's me with these guys is the guys there are paying for the training just to be rented out for extra income and not learning anything worthwhile by submitting to directories and article submission, any chimp with a computer can do that.

havent you ever watched karate kid? wax on wax off. you gotta learn the basics 1st! If they never learn the basics then they'll never be able to do or understand the advance stuff and eventually have their own team

You could say anyone with a pair of scissors can cut hair.
People have to start somewhere and if they're offering you a cut rate (sorry) deal in the process who's losing out?

Okay guys, here is the straight from the hourse's mouth version as they say.

We have a sister company in India. It's a web -marketing firm. It was set-up while the present MD was still in UK back in 2008. So, they had clients who just got shifted over to India. God, their bills were cut by 50%. Were they complaining!

Now, some valid points regarding Indian SEO/web-marketing scene-

  1. Labour is cheap so expect absurd quotes. But it also holds true that good things do come at a price. We never charged less than $5/hour for routine SEO stuff.
  2. Routine SEO stuff can and should be outsourced as it saves your time and costs pennies. NOt a huge risk if you buy 10 hours for $2.
  3. Good web marketing agencies would still quote around 30-50% cheaper than UK prices. Thats a fair game. Our basic package costs around $100/month. Around 20 hours of SEO work.Covers a lot of ground.
  4. Those who spam with a gmail id expose themselves out as desperate amateurs. And then they give you ridiculous prices. You have to think seriously about their abilities to fill your work in time and as per your expectations. Rarely happens. We outsource a LOT of routine stuff to agencies here and we know this first hand.
  5. Talk to person in charge on phone/skype. Try to talk to the article/content writer. Ask for paid custom samples. Do a test run.

Basically, you can and you will great cost-effective SEO labour from India.Just don;t fall for silly quotes. Prices should be your last concern as it's anyway much lower than UK. Don't be too greedy. Having a right outsourcing partner can really make or break your business. Saves a hell lot of time.

I hope I cleared a lot of questions here without sounding biased. ( also, tried very hard not to pitch our services:))

It may be cheap but it's rarely good.

All India SEO seems to do is the same old directory submission, blog commenting and social profiling. You rarely see them do anything of value.

Even the article writers just churn out crud.

Instead of paying $5/hour for months of garbage link building why not just pay $500 for one really great inbound link.

I can see where you are coming from. There are about 500 small agencies where I am ( in and around New Delhi). Doing same rote stuff day in day out!

BUT, If you look to buy $1 backlinks and super cheap articles you will without an exception run into crap, doesn't matter whether it;s an Indian or an American vendor. It's supply-demand. Unfortunately, lots of people opt for crap and by gosh do they get it! Overdelivered!:)

NEVER treat everything with the same stick. Generalizing is not a great habit my friend.

That email's a rip off. I pay much less for much more to my Indian freelancers I use (except for the article writing, I get articles for around the same price)

The average wage in India is ~$300 a month fulltime. == $10/day, 9-5 = 8 hours, $1.25 average hourly wage. (although I don't hire people full time)

Careful my friend...generalizing:rolleyes:

$300 a month is okay if you're talking about a full-time article writer/SEO guy.

Now this is racism!

So many Indians work In UK and contribute to UK's economy. Please don't make such wage statements going forward!

I never intended to create a post regarding race or nationality but the entry level for SEO is so very low, once you have a website you can be a SEO guru. In most cases you will find almost everyone can talk about SEO and how to improve your online presence however very few can execute a strong SEO strategy (Ethically)

Trends always emerge within countries with a lower cost of living within service industries. I would like to see any UK based SEO company compete with $2 per hour. That is not contributing to the economy?

Stop playing the race card - I am Asian and I see nothing racist about that comment.
Out sourced work mean monies paid go to the location being paid to.
If money leaves the country how is that helping the economy.
I get wound up when people scream racism because they dont have a valid point or argument.
