Got into the press!

Well i've now launched the retail website, and got a nice half page of coverage to start with! This went into a Homes pullout within the paper.

Competition went out yesterday in a local paid for publication, circulation about 19000. Hopefully a few people will get in touch!

Hmm. Feeling a bit deflated! Was hoping to have a few calls by now (paper came out on friday) but nothing! Hits to the site, but no calls!

Am i expecting things too soon?

Don't forget Kitchen refurbishment is a big project and there will be very few people aiming to get it done at that perticular time by coincidence.

Best thing to do is build upon it with other activities and do a follow-up article in the same paper as you will have made a good contact by now. Also, maybe think about going further a field with a homes magazine. Keep on plugging away!!

Well done for getting the spot.

In my experience these things are great for the ego and are usefull to add to your web site but their link to sales can be a bit remote (as is traditional advertising).

You have some time yet though, newspapers hang around for a week or so before being relegated to the budgy cage and people rip out articles and stick them on the fridge while they think about it.

Keep plugging away, and don't hope for immediate miracles! It is a long game; last week one of the biggest referrers to my site was from an article 30 months ago!
