The best thing to do is write on peoples walls who are related to your business and people who may be interested and actually earn the likes. I post alot on parenting FB pages as a mother myself and i sell childrens party supplies so i get quite afew likes that way. I have my website with a like us on facebook page so again that could help and my page is called gdpartysupplies i set up a couple of months ago and have 191 likes - but i know i didnt have to pay for them - they were all natural through my posting and persistence and they are probably people who actually want party supplies!

Gemma

The hard way around but in my humble opinion the most valuable way - you know the vast percentage of your fans are people genuinely interested and more likely to interact. We've used the same tactic and our numbers are growing in small but steady bursts, we've just passed 610 today.

and he has to have over 25 fans in order to write on peoples walls. This is why people use our excellent service in order to kick start there Facebook account.
Or the businesses that go for the 50000 fans in order to reach alot more GENUINE Facebook users

I disagree. If anyone has that much trouble getting people to like their page then buying likes will not kick start anything. As it stands his page is pretty bare so i can understand peeps not liking it.

Also if you advertise your services on facebook you get likes that way too don't you?

That in theory works if you interact with Facebook through a personal account but not every business does. Advertising on facebook can be very costly and does not guarantee fans.

I can see why buying fans makes your page look less dead and it's cheap. But in my opinion if you can't get it to work off your own back then it's a clear sign social media is not for them.

So if thats the case then working on the same principle Google Adwords is the exact same to websites???
You are encouraging people to have a look at whats on offer

A facebook page is completely different to a website. And adwords would bring you far far more value for your time and investment in terms of getting actual clients.

Adwords is different. Adwords is where you target a campaign and bring visitors to the site who have an interest in whats on offer.

Getting likes that are forced are not the same as some one freely clicking on an adword. The advertising on facebook can get you likes and build up something more than a base of bots. But the advertising on facebook currently is no where near as profitable as search advertising. People arent in buying mode.

Not true where investment is concerned. As we have done market research with both. Spent £50 on adwords and got 1 sale, spent £10 on facebook fans and got 9 sales

Facebook fans can be targeted to niche markets and geographically

Facebook pages are not forced likes in any way. The business page likes are freely given and IF they are targeted can be very effective.

No way can you compare the two.

A Google Ad is up front about what it is - an advert.

Fans that have been paid for are a bit deceptive IMO - You are giving the impression that people 'Like' your service when in fact the only thing they really 'Like' is the money you have paid them.

If you had read my previous post you would have understood that likes are FREELY GIVEN.
Targeted fans are Liking the business page because they have a genuine interest in whats on offer.

As I said its completely different.

As a customer I KNOW that a website has paid for an ADVERT.

But I assume that a 'Like' has given without any money changing hands.

Yes completely different as obviously an advert is what it is.
It's 1 way of marketing a business and can be successful if done correctly.

Just it the exact same way that a Facebook business page can be as successful if marketed correctly. We are not guaranteeing sales as this is down to the Facebook page.

We guarantee genuine fans for those Business pages if the business does not know how to obtain them for themselves. Obviously if they decide to go for targeted fans there is more of a chance of success and at the cost of even our most expensive service there is absolutely no reason why i Facebook business should not be able to see very good profits from that.

I would imagine for an adword campaign to reach the same numbers would be a lot more expensive with probably the same % of success.

Would you explain the process then please.

Let's say I set up a new website selling incontinence pants.

How are you going to find me 25 'genuine' fans that are going to 'freely give' likes.

What incentive is there for them to 'Like' the page? :|

Absolutely no incentive for them what so ever (of any sort financial)
If targeted the like is given as they have an interest in incontinence.
Be it for themselves or someone else :)
They probably would not admit who lol

@ Massey, Social marketing can be every bit as successful as google ads if handled properly. You're not competing on a page with lots of competitors, with a customer who doesn't know you from Adam, you have a (hopefully) interested audience and have regular interaction with this. For our customers social marketing is a very important part of the mix (and yes, our facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/SingleWithKids our Twitter ID is @SingleWithKids ).

@Bargainmania, 25/ 100 / 1m likes would be no use to us unless they were from single parents, predominantly over 30 and living in the UK. How would you guarantee that? I still haven't seen your own Facebook page which is obviously a proof of everything you're preaching on here (surely?), it would be good to see your Twitter feed too.

So does that mean you won't get me 'Likes' for that website?

If so where do you draw the line at what you can supply 'Likes' for?

Regards

Dotty

Why would we not get you likes for that business page?
The only line we would draw is for extremely niche products that wanted targeted likes in such high numbers that they simply are not available within our network, ie 25 likes for an incontinence page would be no problem.
50000 would be impossible and any customer would be advised the same.

This is where you would be talking targeted. Single parents and Uk resident we can Guarantee but unfortunately at this time not age. Although if we were to work on categories we could pretty much eliminate young single parents.

Fair enough - so you could get me 25 new fans who are UK single parents? What would the time span be, and how would I know whether they came from you or our own marketing efforts?

Time span would be before tomorrow afternoon as i am about to go to bed lol.
You would have no way of knowing if they came from us or your marketing other than the sudden jump in fans numbers. You would see the rise by tomorrow afternoon and in all honesty if you are able to attract 25 visitors to ur page in less than a day i would be advising you that you dont need our help :)

Well online dating would be successful as it involves more interaction online facebook is ideal for that.

But in terms of a decent click through rate and getting new business google beats it hands down. That could change soon though as facebook are tinkering.

How do 25 people end up 'Liking' a page about incontinence pants? Why do they actually click the 'Like' button.

e.g If you were unfortunate enough to have to buy these products would honestly advertise the fact on your Facebook profile?

It's funny how you can guarantee a set number. If they were to be likes by choice then you would not be able to guarantee.... would you?

@ Massey Online dating is rubbish for Facebook - people use the Facebook page to initiate their own introductions and avoid joining up. You get plenty people joining the page, very few if any take it any further.

Our organic click through rate is high (we're in the top 3 on google for our search term) but interaction is essential in converting customers to join our holidays. That interaction can take many forms - email campaigns to our own database, forum, twitter, FB, phone - but these prove more successful than pure clicks.

Just incase there is still any question as to our integrity. We are aiming to be here for the long term. The whole likes thing is to try and encourage more use of facebook business pages for marketing and selling. We are in the process of finalising a brand new way to Sell products on Facebook and this will be completed by next week. Should be very impressive, we will also possibly be offering guaranteed visitors to websites at some point (very early stages of trial)
The last thing we want is to be seen as trying to offer fake fans or fake anything for that matter.

Well im skepticle of a lot of things. But if you are able to target things as well as you claim then it's not a bad idea by any stretch. Im not against gaming systems at all it's just i think there should always be a purpose of gaming.

I've got to say that if the fans are targeted as discussed, then for a tenner I'd be tempted to try it. While we might sneak 10 or so fans in ourselves per day, we'd certainly be able to spot 250 coming along in one swoop.

That said, while you have a good number of fans on your own page, there's only actually one who is interacting with you....how targeted are the others?

I think i already explained that it would be embarressed to admit to that. But it has nothing to do with facebook profiles.

Obviously i am not going into to much detail as to the process but no none has complained yet about the service we offer

Not targeted at all. That page is 3 weeks old and was put together very quickly
The 1 person interacting is actually a charity page we did

I guess we've all given you a fair grilling tonight without proof of the pudding, "cynic" obviously being a middle name we all share.

One way to overcome this would be, for example, to get 25 people to Massey or Dotweb's page as a promotion. If this worked well, I'm sure it would result in a number of other purchases from this forum - including the OP's, who still hasn't reached over 20. Worth a try?

Silky

(p.s. In this I'm assuming Dot isn't really interested in incontinence pads :) )

This is where i have been to honest for my own good. I have had 1 person who runs a stock market website wanting 5000 targeted fans. Told him we could only guarantee 1000 in his niche, He took that and is coming back in a couple of months.

Can I just say at this juncture though it is worth practising your products on your own site / page. If you're selling bespoke design for a FB page, make sure you showcase your offering on your own page....

One of my (many) rants is the so-called Social Media experts around, mainly on Twitter, who tell everyone how great they are but then have around 60 followers and do nothing but spam them hourly, with no interaction. Practise and preaching are obviously two very different ends of the stick.

In this you are assuming that i have had no purchases from this forum when infact i have. What i can and will be doing along with the new selling experience is offering a better deal for members of this forum. Basically anyone who pays £5 will have it discounted from any other service if they come back within 30 days
