Sorry to sound dim but what do you mean you cant secure a fb unsername as you dont have 25 likes.

I have a 2 fb pages one people can like and a business one where i can message people

You can choose your own facebook domain name if you have 25 or more people like your page. So you cold have yours as www.facebook.com/geordiesmobilevaleting or what ever you want as long as it's not taken

These are my 2 pages

This one is a one that you can like
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Geordies-Mobile-Valeting/108307655904223

And this is the other one that i normaly use as i can IM friends
https://www.facebook.com/GeordiesValeting

The first one is a business page, the second one is just a normal account. You can change the domain name on the business page if you like as you have 29 likes. I'm not sure how to do it but I presume it will be in the settings somewhere.

Gemma,

thanks for the explaination - I can't like you back as I do not have a personal account (maybe I should, for your kindness!)!

Is it me,or are these fb pages a pain? Liking, not being able to upload fans to invite, I can't work out how to add html (fbml?) - it is far easier creating a website, from scratch!

They are a bit of a pain - i wanted to suggest to friends but that tool didnt work for me either. The best thing to do is write on peoples walls who are related to your business and people who may be interested and actually earn the likes. I post alot on parenting FB pages as a mother myself and i sell childrens party supplies so i get quite afew likes that way. I have my website with a like us on facebook page so again that could help and my page is called gdpartysupplies i set up a couple of months ago and have 191 likes - but i know i didnt have to pay for them - they were all natural through my posting and persistence and they are probably people who actually want party supplies!

Ok but these are the same acquaintances that you liked at some point?

No. You get introduced to them in the pub, and have a bit of a laugh, so when they send you an invite to be friends on FB you accept.

Next minute its followed up by them asking you to "like" their deformed plant pots or other useless items that their "business" is selling.

Perhaps I'm just being Victor Meldrew.

No your not and i can actually see where you are coming from. Thats also why i have 2 accounts 1= personal and the other 1= business. That way you keep your mates away from the business unless they want to be involved. The biggest problem some of the people your talking about will be having is because of the whole 25 fans thing. Thats why they just blast anyone and everyone to try and get that much sought after url

Huh?
I have over 1 thousand likes on my business page? and they are 50/50 business and personal

Your personal friends wont like your BP for the reasons already given

Alistair

What is the point in having a 1,000 fake likes? What's the point in selling fake likes?

All your doing is discrediting genuine businesses that have real fans. And as a business if you can't get just 25 real people to take an interest your business is obviously seriously flawed.

I would also suspect that carrying out business in this way, by claiming to have 1,000's of customers, is nothing short of fraud.

Fake likes????
What exactly would you class as a fake like?
We Provide likes from genuine people or businesses so what is exactly being discredited?
We do not claim to have thousands of customers?????
We have access to thousands of genuine users, there is a big difference

Hope this clears things up

They would be fake because they don't genuinely like the businesses, or even know anything about them. A genuine "like" will be from someone who knows or has dealt with the business.

I would imagine you are paying these people to like other facebook pages - that is a fake like. To me anyway :)

Ok so you are saying that someone who wants to know more about the company is fake???
We market our customers Business Page throughout our network. The users we have within our network CHOOSE as to like the page or not. It is there choice and we DO NOT pay them any money at all to like any page.
ALL our users are 100% genuine that is why there is normally a natural drop off rate of unlikes once they see more about the business. We make this up to all clients.

A lot of the business pages we deal with are people fairly new to Facebook and are unsure as to how to get the magic 25 number so find it very easy just pay £5 to have this done.

but...I don't understand how that would work.

You get me 25 likes for a fiver...so what? it means nothing.

They're 25 random anonymous likes from people who don't care a jot, they just clicked on the link.

One of my companies has over 500 likes, almost all are customers who have purchased a product and left a mini review on our facebook page for us :) Many have come back to buy something else and some regularly ask us questions via Facebook and Twitter about our products and services...do your 25 likes get that kind of response? or is it just another number?

Thanks Esk, that's my point. You have 500 genuine likes. You get cowboys like this coming along providing fake likes and before long no one takes any notice of real business "likes" and you are discredited and the whole social network site looses creditability.

They are 25 people/businesses who are interested in what services you have to offer. I do not claim that the same 25 people will BUY your product, That is down to how you market your products and interact with potential customers.

If i was able to guarantee 25 sales i would not be offering the service at the price on offer.
