Facebook hacked

My gfs facebook account has been hacked. They have managed to change the email address without any notification from facebook to confirm if it is legit or not.
She cant gain access to it because the password reset email is going to someone in probably some exotic part of the world.

She has used it as a place to store photos of our daughter growing up for the last 7-8 years and now it looks like she might possibly lose them all which shes quite upset about.

I know probably not legal or whatever, but is there anyone here able to take control of the account so she can have it back? Facebook only offer links to pages which is not working.

That would be illegal in several jurisdictions including the UK.

Has she tried to get in touch with FB team, etc.

Shes tried. You cant speak to them. It refers you to a link to send a code to your email address, but the email address has been changed.

Whoever has her account is also trying to sell oasis tickets.

Yes, this is happening all too frequently at the moment.

I've had 2 friends that I know of lose their Instagram accounts in the last week. Email address and phone number changed so they can't reset the password.
