What value does this image add to the article, when the BBC must have rights to so many other images?

Because they don't have rights to an image of the accused (or a famous witness) standing in the court room. A sketch of that is better than a library photo of the accused with a blanket over their head in the back of a van.

I can see that but in this case we know what Max Clifford looks like, there's thousands of pictures of him out there, and there's nothing to stop people being photographed on their way in or out of court. There's existing legislation protecting witnesses. Just seems odd that you can hang around outside someone's house taking pictures as they come and go, but we still have someone with an etch-a-sketch once in court.
