Hello,

I hope you all are well.

I own a small cleaning company in Bristol. I currently clean houses but I am looking for offices to clean.

I have posted flyers and have used Facebook and Google advertising, but haven’t had the outcome I was looking for. I have also approached offices and spoken to individuals about my services but I don’t hear back from them.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get commercial clients?

Many thanks

You probably don't hear back because they are content as they are. Most businesses who use contract cleaners don't change, because they don't need to.

The only reasons to change cleaners is one, that they are being charged too much, and two, that they are unhappy with the quality of the cleaning. If the latter is the case then you are going to inherit the existing cleaners under TUPE regs anyway and you need to explain how you will manage them better than the incumbent. This is what you need to concentrate on when approaching prospects.

In my opinion you need to speak to the office managers/receptionists. It's a numbers game.

    Fellow Bristol business here!

I'm glad to hear that you're directly going to businesses! It's not an easy feat, especially when you're not getting any traction from it, but keep going! I'd suggest adjust your approach.

What are you offering in your flyer? Perhaps there's a lot of competition in your area, find out exactly what they are doing!

So if a competitor is offering half price on the first hour, perhaps you could offer the first hour week for a weekly booking of more than 3 hours free.

Looking at the market is key.

No sure that's going to convince a business to switch contracts. If they are happy with their current cleaners they are unlikely to drop them for someone unknown.
