Clothes for taller ppl

I've got an idea to make a webshop and sell clothes to tall people. Clothes, like Jeans with largere length than normal.

I've tried looking for supplier for these clothes in Denmark, but found nothing.

Where can i find suppliers for tall clothes ?... in Uk or other countries inEuropa?
 
firstly you have t define tall, and TBH I don't think there is a big enough target market which is why you finding it hard to find them.

Pun intended? Big enough market....no? OK.

Clothing manufacturers have done research into viable sizes - as said above if there was a market for it they would be selling. That's not always the case but with something as competitive as clothing and fashion it more likely is.

Hmm, I'm 6ft 4" my friend is 6ft 5" and my old boss is 6ft 6" - I currently have an engineer who is 6ft 9" We have a fair few people that come into my shop that are just as tall as me, and then we have one regular customer whom is 6ft 10" - the last two are funny... they have to duck in our shop as we have low ceilings :D

Personally, I wouldn't say that the market wasn't big enough... perhaps they just don't make em like they use to down south eh Totallysport? :D

I think the fact that you can count (and probably name) the very tall people you know shows what a very small market it is. Have you ever tried counting the number of people around 5'10" that you know/see around?

All I'm saying is that you should recognize how small a market you are addressing.

There are not many fella's that come in to my shop that are below 5ft 10 actually.

The point I was making was that by rule of thumb, if you know 5 people over 6ft tall the possibility of each and every other person in the UK alone knowing 5 people over 6ft is quite astronomical. :)

The trouble is that in these 'big & tall' 'high and mighty' shops, usually the clothes are not fashionable or on trend.
Finding manufacturers who make on trend, big and tall clothing may be a tough ask, as they are probably very scarce or none.
Maybe a niche for the OP? - who knows.

Joking apart though, I've never really been into fashion, with my size 14's I get the worst looking trainers and boots you can imagine.

It's not a pretty sight ;)

Lol, not at all.

But hopefully you get my drift.

I've been in to these big and tall shops, and passed by many others, and its usually just items that are several seasons old.

I can understand getting shoes would be difficult.

Maybe it's a niche if done right could work?

Obviously, more material = higher end cost.

Oh I get the drift all right...

Some clothes I can fit into comfortably, or I have to go for the XXXL which look like tents or way to baggy. An XXL T shirt when washed a few times no matter what you try always shrinks to roughly an XL - Again this size doesn't fit pending on the manufacturer.

Like my shoes, I have a pair of Rigger Boots which are a size 13, a pair of Dr Martins which are a 14 and then a pair of Air Nike trainers which are a size 12... ALL fit snuggly!?!

The High and Mighty chain sell the same clothing as may other retailers also carrying many designer brands and ranges from what I've seen, including 'this seasons' styles.

In the US most of the larger department stores have always carried ranges for large and taller people and I've noticed in shops over here now startign to do so more, Marks and Spencer have recently launched a range for this market I remember reading.

If you find any nice ladies' taller cuts, let me know. I really struggle to get clothes to fit me - I'm 5'10 (not really even that tall!) and a size 6-8 - shops seem to think that taller girls will invariably be at least a size 12. Very depressing.

You know, I'm extremely confused with women's sizes!

My current partner is only 5ft 1" but according to her she's in size 10 with size 3 shoes! - But she is Tiny!! extremely thin too!

I honestly thought she was in a 6 or an even an 8... I'm amazed at how women's sizes varies

I desperately need someone to come up with "taller" not "larger" sizes for my family. My 17 year old son is 6 ft 6 and slim. He has a size 49 foot. If I buy the length he really needs in a t shirt then he looks like Demis Roussos (for those of you who remember him).

My 13 year old daughter is nudging 6 ft and has a size 42 foot. She needs a pair of slip on pumps that you would get from the high street for about 20 quid tops. From Long Tall Sally they would cost me 98 quid!

They are young teenagers. Like other teens they want to be fashionable and have a few bits and bobs in their wardrobe that doesn't break the bank. Shopping is no fun for either of them and I feel for them.

I would certainly support a company that could take the headache out of tall people shopping!

The problem is that many well-known company does not make clothes in large sizes.(tall) those who make them, sell it very expensive. Maby i can by my own get manufactured clothes for tall people. - but people want brands clothes!

I can just imagine the outbreak of WWIII if I described my partner as "current."

It requires a lot of capital to start a Webshop with clothes in extra lengths. I will therefore start out carefully and only sell tshits with extra lengths.
Do you think this good idea ?

Iam going to china next month. To find best tshirts and so on

In my experience it is assumed that tall people have long legs and therefore longer trousers are a desired garment. Both my children have regular leg lengths but are very long bodied. If I buy them a bigger t-shirt, say, then it is wider, not generally longer.

Whilst lots of young girls are keen to show off their tummies and the like, my daughter wants a t-shirt or upper body garment that is a "normal" length for her. That also includes long sleeves; both my children have longer than normal arms.

Iam 7 foot. .. and will tell you this much if you have clothes at good price and that its in style then you will have a nice market for it, because we as taller people doint have a big choice and if you find a store that works for us we will stick with it. its not the same to shop for person that is 6 foot and then for some one taller then 7 foot. You will not find stuff just anywhere...its is extreamly hard and tall and might is expensive not style is not for everyone....

Hi i am in agreement that there arent enough tall clothing retailers. I am also hoping to start a business within this field. Fashionable and affordable is what is lacking in this area. As someone mentioned long tall sally this is a prime example of overpriced unfashionable clothing for tall people. I dont understand why they think tall people arent fashionable!

There is a market for selling clothes for very tall peple in the UK. 'Next Retail' have been selling clothing for tall people and there is a another shop called 'Long Tall Sally' who specialise in selling clothing for tall people. They've been around for a while.

I think your plan is a good idea but you need to look at what they do and see what you can do better. I think jeans is one of the hardest things to find for very tall people.
