Grants are very much specific to purpose/areaHello can anyone suggest any resources to apply for early stage business grants?
Sustainable skincare and hair products with Bioscience technologies
What stage in this process are you up to? Or did you have an idea and you need the money to get started?Developing them myself then working with chosen supplier to produce quantities in hundreds of thousands.
No. The next step would be to have the product tested and certified safe, then develop a business plan to present to prospective funders.Raising money is the next step
Received a supplier quote to have the product tested and certified safe. Wanting to raise capital for product testing and producing the formula.No. The next step would be to have the product tested and certified safe, then develop a business plan to present to prospective funders.
You are unlikely to qualify for any grants as I can't see a 'social payback'I have a business plan and creating a pitch deck.
Social payback - public health aversion such as minimising skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, and other systemic conditions like cardiovascular disease or diabetes. By effectively managing these skin conditions through proper skincare, it reduces the risk of developing associated systemic health issues. Also sourcing sustainable natural ingredients and packaging that is environmental friendly. Do you have any advice in finding suitable grants? You are unlikely to qualify for any grants as I can't see a 'social payback'
Investors - will very much depend on the quality of your plan (that is a plan showing coherent market research and how you are the person to lead and grow the business)
There are lots of investment threads on here - do a search
So not tested yet and not certified.Received a supplier quote to have the product tested and certified safe. Wanting to raise capital for product testing and producing the formula.
Hi can you expand bit more about needing a big group behind you to substaintiate products claims? Also I don't see the room to find a company to licence it to why do you see it that way thank you for your on going support. So not tested yet and not certified.
What’s the country of origin and what certificates will you be adhering to, as well as registration requirements.
Generally speaking skincare is a no no for a start up without a big group behind you to substantiate product claims.
Get your product tested, certified, registered, conform to all selling and importing requirements, product liability insurance and IP your product.
If you overcome ALL the hurdles above, find a company to licence it to.
Wish you luck.
Lots and lots of luck.
Hi Paul how are you? is it really hard to set up a business post covid? I have completed all that you have mentioned where can I go from here? thank you for your ongoing support.I have only advised about 20 people post covid wanting to start or develop a skincare business and in all but 2 or 3 grant support was not available.
The 2 or 3 that did were supported via non business specific grants as they fell into a 'minority' or other supported group.
As mentioned:
Start with a business plan
Know your costs
Branding is important
Know your USP/s
Prepare to spend £000's on marketing, if you want to make an impact.
BTW, of the 20 that I have advised, almost all of them have stopped or no further forward. 2 of the people that got support have given up.
In a word…..validation.Hi can you expand bit more about needing a big group behind you to substaintiate products claims?
The costs involved. Also I don't see the room to find a company to licence it to why do you see it that way
Hi MOICIn a word…..validation.
The costs involved.
If you don’t have the room, you’ve got your pricing wrong.
Just my opinion based on supplying beauty and skincare to international brands.
