Hi All

I designed my own website which took years of fully understanding html. Our new employee has started a Blogger Blog (google blog I believe). She keeps needing me to help as a lot of it appears to be HTML coding. Is there an easier blog out there? I was expecting to be able to drop in images, click to centre this and that, make this smaller - I guess I was expecting it to be like a picture editing tool - but it would appear its not that easy. For example, the navigation bar is all coding .

Thank you, poppy

Hi poppy, that's strange, as I use blogger for my personal blog and it had no such issues...it is incredibly use friendly, and the only time I needed actaul HTML was when I was changing parts of my template, and for that I just googled the different things I wanted to do. Helplogger is a good blog which explains how to do different things on Blogger.

I hope that helps! Of course failing that there's Wordpress, whichis used more often now and seen as more professional, but I still personally feel that the blogger is the most straightforward for basic blogging.

Wordpress is defiantly a great option! im not a fan of "blogger". If you do decide to use wordpress look into a self hosted Wordpress blog as with this option you get the option to use custom themes.

I agree with Justin as i have also used blogger and it's very easy to use blog platform. It may be possible that she did something wrong with html coding.

Poppy,

You new employee is doing something very wrong. There is no need to mess with any code on a blogger site.

But....

This now raise the question as to why they are even setting up a blogger site. This way of doing things was out of favour years ago. If you want to blog it should be integrated into your main site so everything links together. Even better would be to move the whole site to a content management system so you don't have to mess with HTML ever again and your site would be responsive, Google friendly and much easier to manage.

Wordpress is much better. If it's a business blog then buy a premium bespoke theme and upgrade to premium to make it more professional. Take the rest from there. Also, make sure you disable comments!

I agree - Wordpress is the way to go as you have your blog integrated into your site. But as others have said, there shouldn't be much of a need to mess with html on Blogger.
