Hi All,

I thought given there are so many TV buffs on here i would ask if anyone uses this gadget.

For me i think its essential, we are heavy users of Itunes and often use it to rent the latest blockbusters from itunes.
Its a wireless interface which also lets you share content from another computer.
For example the Apple TV itself has no hardrive so you cannot make purchases from it. However if you do from a laptop of desktop you can share the collection and view it from your flat screen TV.
The downsides to the device are you cannot stream the likes of Iplayer or ITV player to the box. Then they reckon you already have a freeview box which does that for you.

For me its also invaluable for my son who likes to view his cartoons on it.

Does anyone else here use Itunes/ Apple TV?

I use a Mac Mini as part of a home cinema.
I don't often watch the TV.

i must admit i'm the same.
only been watching DVD's and films really since i got married.

I use a laptop as a media server but to be honest hardly use it. I still prefer using DVDs (I don't even have a good reason why)

Get the original Apple TV if you can, it has a hard drive built in and was more "hackable"

Apple missed a lot of tricks with the new version. If they had kept in the hard drive and beefed up the spec a bit, we could have all been playing our iPhone/iPad apps on the big screen
