Alternatives to broadband

We live a very online life, kids always on youtube and chatting, we download a lot of TV (iplayer) and films

We're looking at buying a very remote house, and although the exchange is broadband enabled the web site indicates that we will be unlikely to get broadband due to the distance from the exchange

Are there any alternatives, what sort of cost and what sort of quality

thanks

I would try a mobile data solution, the cost has come right down esp if your have a phone contract with the same supplier. Many providers allow you to use it for a while to check coverage etc. We use 3 for our rental company Rentalaptop Ltd and I carry one with me all the time! You can even share the connection over wireless network.

Yes reading the links CJD provided, made me think mobile is the way to go, the problem being that our bandwidth usage is more than the packages currently offer, and some of those packages have a 10p a MB cost if you go over your usage. (10GB over the top at 10p a MB)

Still with the housing market as it is I'm really rather inclined to go into rented, which would save us a packet.
