Why do the links you add keep "hanging" you can close a thread come back to it later and its still there hanging ?
I'm not sure, but the link still seems to work, even though it appears to be hanging!

I decided to think this topic over with a degree of seriousness and after three double southern comforts I have come to realise I have been having trouble with the forum for almost a decade.

The data cleaning will obviously bring many benefits after the hours of work and delays to the users, OK Ozzy, I posted it when do I get my £20?

I'm not sure, this isn't something I'd noticed until you pointed it out.

I've flagged to the team to investigate.

If you come across any issues with the site, you can raise these with us for an investigation right away below (or email [email protected]):

Its actually doing it on your post above, link just continually says "loading"
Yes, I've seen that it's happening on all links. Apologies, I only meant that it was something I hadn't picked up on until you mentioned it.

This has already been flagged to the team, reference UKSRV-27023 if you're interested in following it up at all.

As it's a bug, it should be dropped straight into our next development cycle (starting 12th of June) provided *touch wood* nothing major happens between now and then.

    Thanks for flagging :)

I've disabled the live evaluation for now, which will stop the checks from taking place during post-creation. Posts are still subject to being held for review if the tonality is deemed to be too negative (we've tested this extensively and it will typically only flag if there's a lot of f-ing and blinding or some outright nasty speech) but users will no longer know if their post is past the threshold until after they hit "Post reply".

I'll speak with the managers of the integration and see if we can adjust the frequency at which the integration tests the content.
Has this gone back on again?

I'm not seeing the bar shoot across, but line breaks are disappearing every time you start typing again, the spell check is OK though...

So you're seeing the same issue in Chrome? I'm not and I cannot reproduce on my phone or any other colleague's devices.

Are you able to test this in Chrome directly and send a screenshot to support, please?
The page display has changed on mobile and the problem has gone away. After clearing all cookies and browsing history (I like to do this occasionally) the recent posts page now has a drop down for questions or posts rather than two side-by-side buttons that were possibly causing the issue.

Perfect, I'm glad to see it got resolved. The issue got flagged to the team from a support ticket, so the team were able to isolate the issue.

Let me know if you have any further difficulties.

    Nope, it hasn't been reenabled.

Can't replicate it today, did it on Friday but seems OK now.

I will update here & submit details by email if it happens again.

On my iPhone the site often hangs. I have to reload 2-3 times before it finally connects. Once connected it's all good but it's that initial page load that's very tardy. There are other issues with the JS not being very resiliant but there isn't much you can do about that.

Why aren't you supporting Brave? It's becoming the browser of choice for many.

    I assume you're joking? ?
It's behind Yandex, Sogou, QQ, Opera - even behind the discontinued and no longer available Internet Explorer.

How do you know? Brave blocks all tracking by default so you wouldn't even know someone is using it. It's built on the Chromium Web core so stats often get lumped in with Chrome.

I Google'd browser share of market and looked at the first few results to compare their league tables.

Yes, but because Brave blocks tracking those stats are very skewed.

That being said, as it's a Chromium Web core browser (ie Chrome) there shouldn't be any reason for it not to be supported. I use it and UKBF works just fine for me.

My point was really to highlight that Brave is fully supported by UKBF because it’s a Chromium browser. You just won’t ever know who uses it.

Anyone else getting intermittent access to UKBF today? It's either unreachable at times (confirmed with downforeveryoneorjustme.com) or very slow.
We've had an average server response time of 15 seconds since 12 noon today.

We're aware of the issue and it's cause and are currently working on a resolution. ?

UKBF has been extremely slow to load for me across multiple devices this morning (pages taking 1 minute plus to load).

    Is there something going on?
They are working on it. Personally I think they let Ozzy press a button again.

Yes it’s still almost unusable again this morning.

It was taking several minutes to log in and load pages yesterday and the same today.

When it does eventually load I’m also seeing a pulsing line across the top.

I would like to clarify this time it was not me (this time) who pushed a button, but a button was pushed. o_O

We are doing a significant database update and cleanse which in the test environment only took a few hours to complete. Typical that in the live environment is taking more than a day to complete and has been ongoing for more than 30 hours now already.
I'm afraid we need to let it finish. The cleanse is complete and now the database indexes are rebuilding.

Just curious as to whether your test environment has a copy of the same database used in live, or is it just a sample set?
A copy but anonymised. Still, something is clearly different.

Anyway, that’s all stale member data purged now.
