WP & canonical URLS

I have some duplicate content issues in WMT, caused by sorting ie Google is recognising
/pa_size/12-18-months/
/pa_size/12-18-months/?orderby=date

the same page but sorted by date as duplicate content.
I'm using WP & Yoast, will adding a canonical URL sort this? My worry is I'll be telling Google the canonical URL for /pa_size/12-18-months/ is /pa_size/12-18-months/ which will cause a issue as I'm telling it to look at the page its looking at... if that makes sense?!

Yea the Google Parameter tool is the best place to start, but make sure you read up on it before you implement anything, you can cause big issues otherwise.

Yep using the Google Webmaster Tools (or what ever it is called now), you need to modify the tags Google has found and change them to suit (orders data).

When you say WP? do you mean Wordpress?
