Would you trade an opencart theme for a security audit.

Hi, I Provide Cyber Security Testing for websites and networks, as you are aware this costs money. However Im branching out into other areas of business and I dont have time to build themes so Im looking for someone who can make a theme but also would like security testing. Im willing to trade a nice fashion based theme for a FULL security audit on your ecommerce based site.

Well tbh I dont have the time to make one personally, and dont know anyone that builds them. But as you are aware I have a security background so i am willing to trade a Security audit on your website in exchange for a theme. Which does work out alot cheaper than me charging full price for an audit. Come on lads lets share skills and experiences and trade services.

But there is no skill to exchange. All you have to do is download a theme and install is on opencart. It normally takes about 5 minutes. However, if what you really want is someone to configure and populate the site, install plugins and extensions and do any necessary coding then the cost could be far in excess of a security audit of a website.

But if you just want me to install a theme in exchange for an audit I'm happy to do that for you. All I need to know is the name of the theme you want.

Every theme I saw costs around $50 and I dont want to pay for it, Once uploaded I can do all the rest. I just hate making themes.

Building a theme costs a lot more than $50. So I'll just install a free one in exchange for my audit. That's probably about the best deal you would get form anyone. Sorry to be all negative but I can't see how the trade off would benefit the theme builder as there are a load of website security checkers already available for a low cost.

lol, I see what you saying but to me its nothing just a few hours work if that. I dont value money the same as time.

Whereas a professionally done custom theme design and build would cost many thousands.

Well i can increase my prices cos they are considered pretty low considering my past and experience. OK lets say 10k is that enough, its all just symantics.

To be honest, I don't think it makes any sense to barter. You want a theme and some people want security audits - but it's unlikely there is much overlap.

Luckily though, that's why money was invented! You just need to find someone who would pay $50 for a security audit, and then you can buy ANY theme that's $50 or less!

I'm just giving some honest advice - I think it much more sense to sell your services for money and then buy a theme.

And don't take this the wrong way but unless you're an experienced graphic designer and web developer, I think the chances of you producing a responsive theme that anyone would buy from is pretty low. It takes many years to learn those skills to a decent level.
