What car do you drive?

Out of interest JustOneUK, what was your inspiration for this post? Are you thinking of buying a new car........I'll get shot for this, but its reading like how big is your ***** after reading some of the replies ;-)

Ok....I won't drive, theres too many cars on the road and plus it scares little old me to think of sitting behind the wheel of a tonne of metal and taking control over it.

My entry is #4, Big and pink it is.

I went out with a guy once that tried to impress me by telling me that he had a BM........it was a brown Marina....when I met my husband he had a Mazda MX5 which he "decided" to sell - he used to think it was hilarious that people thought it was a girls car because he used to have no trouble being let out at junctions etc, then used to take great delight sticking his curly bonce out of the window to thank people.

There have only ever been 2 manly convertibles ever made ... in order:

TR6 ... Mind U according to James May off of Top Gear the wheels are like a washing machine drum.

The other is the Jaguar V12 XJS.

Any other convertible should be sold under license to hair dressers only.

We own a Toyota Camry (very reliable family car) and a Scion xB (which is a box on wheels and incredibly versatile). In addition, my older daughter has a Mazda Protege (small but reliable) and my oldest son has a Honda Civic (same reason). In other words, our choices were pragmatic and cost-conscious (very little maintenance costs for any of these).

I drive my Girlfriends 1996 M-Reg Vauxhall Corsa 1.4GLS. She doesn't use it, It goes pretty quick when you want it too, what's the problem?

I do want a new car, I won't get one yet as I can't afford one plain and simple. I'd love a big, comfortable and preferably German car..

Modified 1.2 Renault Clio Dynamique. Looks good, but engines rubbish, does 0-60 in about a day. Electrics are dire and needs to be plugged into a laptop every time something goes wrong.:(

I am only 20 so insurance is just about as much as the car:eek:.

In the summer I am hoping to get Citroen C2 Furio or VTR.

wifes got a 1.6 clio,great little car,as fast as her previous golf GTI with more comfort.Park it anywhere.

And never let her down,:)

My husband has asked the question, out of interest does anyone put their car through the business or do you keep the car in your own name and charge mileage back to the company? What advice has your accountant given you?

Oddly I don't even know what my car is! I bought it and just pay the bills - how bad is that? I think it's made by renault - but that's just a random guess. :eek:

For family and long distance Merc ML280 Sport. Why ? Space, comfort, I like it. I always drive 4 by 4 as I am yet to get a speeding ticket in them. When I used to drive estates like Volvos etc I was picking up more tickets than a train cleaner.

For work Nissan Pick up Why ? Does the job and I like it

VW Eos 2.0T

Why? Wanted a hard top convertable that had at least some performance - Eos isnt great but at least is better than the Focus/ 307/ Megan/ Astra etc. Also needed a little more than the token back bench which ruled out the likes of the SLK.

I have 2. One is a Jeep Liberty, other is a hummer H2. I drive the h2, girlfriend uses the jeep. I got the h2 because of the size. I am not the smallest person and had surgery on my leg and I needed the space.

I have a purple Citroen C3 and love it. It's nippy to drive, plenty of boot space and great if you are tall to fit in. Totally idiot proof. :D

I spent months trying to decide which car I wanted and tried lots of them. My short list...

Peugeot 306 2L hard top was lovely, but a group 12 insurance, which is very expensive when you have already used your no claims on a campervan.

Mazda MX 5 looks good, but seem to be built for little people. My hubby sat in it and his head popped up though the soft top. Was very funny at the time, but put me off the car.

Toyota soft top, this was way too low to get out of lady like. I sat in it and couldn't get back out easy with the top down. Horrible squashed up car. Not for serious driving to work, definitely a boys toy.

I love the look of minis outside, but hated the interior.

In fact, I have looked and tried that many cars now, I may become a car reviewer. I know Citroen's aren't trendy, but it was the best all round little car for me. Plus, I can buy purple accessories now and jazz it up all girly. :D

why? because it is cheaper to run than my previous car,which was a galaxy.I can still fit the kids in comfortably and when I went to the garage I like the look of it and it was silver, sad I know but it had to be the right colour and it had to have a nice shape!:p

X Type Jaguar 2.5 sport...why

Its a 4 wheel drive without looking like 1 of the chelsea brigade
Daughters nursery is in the country down a 5 mile single track road

So I suppose in all honesty, my car is now what was my wifes...Ford Fiesta Zetec S - Why - cos I am not allowed the Jag, only at weekends
