I am looking for companies that sell spy products fro my spyshop

I am looking at a couple of sites but am wondering iif anyone here has any experience in trading with companies over there?

Any dos and donts?

The best advice is you should be careful when you buy from any suppliers of any countries.

If you know these two websites you want to deal with them,you can contact them for more informations,and establish trust on them step by step,most important is you must make sure they are formal companies,but not individual.

And if they can show you all the legal documents,then you don't need worry.whether they are honest suppliers or not,i think you can judge when you touch with them.

i do not understand what difference it makes, i am a sole trader and therefore an individual

Why do you not need to worry if the have egal companies, loads of people get left in a pickle by legal companies

Are you looking to buy in bulk or just smaller numbers?

If smaller numbers then I would be inclined to start small and test the water. Again, dependent on volume, you may want to consider different types of freight to get it back into the UK. (Courier, Air or sea freight.)

If you're buying in larger volume, then it's a whole different ball game taht usually entails flying over to meet the factories.

Finally, when looking at your costs, don;t forget to factor in the realtime exchange rate, shipping and duty.

It's just small amounts. They don't accept paypal, they send an invoice with their bank details and you have to pay them before they send anything out.

As an individual,when comparing with one company,which one will get more trust? i just say a truth,without any emotional colouring.

Exporting from China to foreign countries,there are many customs procedures compulsively to be dealed with,almost each documents need company's signature.even if expressing small pieces of samples,we also need show PI with signature to pass the customs.

In China,there are many individual trader too.when they export,they always find a company or a factory to cooperate,because only depend themselves,it is hard to send the goods out of China.
By the way,i don't thinks i'm an expert,but since the purpose of this forum is convenient for us to discuss international business,and i'm in China,why not to say more informations from our side?

I'm also working for my company to export wood products,when i get a small order (PI Guy,i'm sorry i have to say so),as my company's policy,i have to request my clients to pay full T/T in advanced.international trading is a behavior with risk.if you plan to buy one container,then you certainly refuse to pay all the amount at the first.i think most chinese are honest,you don't worry too much.

Make sure the PI,if the price,quantity,destination port,delivery time,delivery way etc items are right,and also the company's name,contact details,signature and so on.

If its small quantities and you have worries just order up what you can afford to loose and have them send it by courier..
To be honest I have never had one problem with the Chinese and bring a reasonable amount of gear into the UK though you will find bad apples anywhere..

The old moral of its its too good to be true its a scam is always worth bearing in mind.

Generally when working with a new supplier we start small for a samples order, then a second larger order to introduce to some customers and ramp it up by the third just to build a bit of a relationship with them as much as anything. If you do look at brimnging more in go over there as its worth it to put your mind at rest and you will get all the intangible benefits that you cant sometimes place but due to having been and met the folks it does help the relationship.

PI Guy,i think you can open L/C to your supplier,if you really worry about they don't delivery to you.

L/C is the safest way for both of you and your supplier,so it is fair.

Please consult with the bank in UK to see if you can deal with L/C.

forgive my ignorance but what is L/C?:|

L/C = letter of credit issued by a bank to confirm they will pay for good once they have arrived in the country after x amount of days.

The chinese company then use the LC to get the money from there own banks so you loose alot of risk and you can create the LC contract if the rules aren't adhered too you can refuse to pay.

An L/C will be too expensive for small orders. You may be better off dealing through an intermediary. I have a friend who deals in some of the products you seek and he travels to China at least twice a year as well as using an agent to make sure everything goes smoothly.

I'm with the previous post in the fact that an L/C is too unwieldy and expensive. I would, however, disagree with using an intermediary. Assuming that you're only spending a couple of £100, I would take the risk and go direct. Otherwise, by the time you've given the intermediary his cut, the price will inflate proportionately.

Just make sure that you're confident with his web operation.

Out of curiosity, whereabouts are they based? If in HK, I would quite happily check them out for you. Unfortunately though, I've just come back and won't be going out for a couple of months.

Bite the bullet and just place a small order..
Do your due dilligenece and have a hunt round the web for any bits of info but you may be pleasantly suprised by working with them..
