video emails - has anybody used them?

Hi

Has anybody used "video emails" - by that I mean sending an email and a video plays straight away in the body of the email.
Does it work? what's the quality like?
Do you know a good provider/service? I'm interested.

Our local FSB bloke uses them and they're bloody awful. To be fair, that's partially 'cos he's not the world's most inspiring VJ, though!

I know a few people have complained about the download time they take, as not everyone has broadband and he doesn't include any information at all, except the invitation to "push the button" and listen/watch. The quality of these puts some people off coming to FSB meetings.

Obviously the issue is him and his equipment and I've seen some better ones, but that seems to be the general standard (so far!) in my experience. No doubt things will improve.

I've not used video emails for marketing so I wouldn't be able to comment however I do know a lot of newspapers are now using video on their websites and many editors see this as the future.

I would be interested to hear what people think about this medium and whether they would log on to a newspaper website to watch a video package or if they would rather watch the local tv news.
