I have to create an eventbrite account to register. Not impressed but I did so and got this message:

You do not have permission for this event.

So I doesn't look like I'll be going @JCBrown

Because London is the centre of the known universe?

It is where c.20% of the population live &/or work, and is the capital, commercial centre, and most of us are governed from it. It is the main public transport hub, so easiest place to get to for many, too, so makes sense. And there are some good bars!

I'll be on holiday so can't make it, but hope everyone has fun. :)

UK population = 66.65M. 20%=13.33M
London population = 8.98M.

Falling a chunk short of your 20% there.
Include those that work there and you get to 20%

same here - and I have had an Eventbrite account for years and put on events through it. Is there a limit that has been reached?

Tips for organising a pish-up in or near a brewery -

1. Put it somewhere where people can fly to, drive to and park, and has a main-line railway station.

2. Draw a map of where your guests will be coming from and find hot-spots and central spots and use that to show you where to put the venue.

3. Hotels and/or B&Bs within walking distance and reasonably priced!

4. Nobody ever said that it has to be in a bar or similar - think outside the box! Museum, boat, marquee, brewery, Mrs. McGooley's Knocking Shop & Pie Company, whatever!

5. Free food. Gobs of curry is cheap and filling!

A bus! I’m a member of UKBF, we don’t do busses. I may have to take a hansom cab should the hoi polloi be perambulating the streets. One has to keep up standards.

We need a list of attendees to see if anyone is sad enough to be logged in to UKBF whilst out for drinks. :D

looking forward to the guessing the username to the face
Any surprises??

I wish I could have been there, but alas, if I leave China, I won't be able to get a visa for some time to get back in. China is now a fortress to get in.

Hope it all went well and kindled friendships!

What a great night it was yesterday! It was fantastic to see some young and keen business minds rock up who had never heard about UKBF ... but now they do!

Thanks to @Paul Kelly ICHYB for finding the lovely bar that hosted us and thanks to @Ozzy for being OZZY!!
