The worst invention Ever

Ok people we have had the thread on the best invention ever. Well i was watching or rather trying to watch TV this eveing when someones blasted car alarm went off.
So like the apple falling on newtons head, i decided what the hell.

For me my worst ever inventions are

Car alarms - Who takes notice anyway
house alarms - As above
speed cameras - to many
Five day working week!

Spamware
Adaware
viruses
to name a few for now.

What are the curses in your life. What which inventor would u most like to torture to death and why?

not that i would like to torture the man who invented this but i would like to ask WHY???

WHY is there an eject button on dvd or video remotes? is it so you can eject the disc then throw another one in like a discus whilst also managing to knock the first one out of the drawer??

if i may reincarnate this thread from the dusty vaults down in the cellars of the UKBF.. i would like to say that IMO flat tables that are masquerading as "desks" are the worst "invention" or design of our time and a wonderful example of designers that put cost before comfort and functionality.

Sitting at one of these tables for a length of time every day COULD potentially cause bad posture that in turn can result in back pain, neck ache, shoulder pains etc etc caused by bending of the neck and awkward sitting.

So schools, parents of students, "table workers" sit up (literally) and take note. these "tables" could seriously affect your health..
