I actually encountered a problem using a vibe coding platform that spawned this idea. The plan is to secure VC funding once we get some early traction and do a few market tests.

• What are you bringing to the party?

I've just looked up 'Vibe coding':

In computer programming, vibe coding is a software development practice assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) and based on chatbots (programs that simulate conversation). The software developer describes a project or task in a prompt to a large language model (LLM), which generates source code automatically. Vibe coding typically involves accepting AI-generated code without closely reviewing its internal structure, instead relying on results and follow-up prompts to guide changes.

This is what's wrong with the world today. A 'tech bro' makes up a term (in this case 'vibe coding') to sugarcoat what other people would otherwise call a bad idea ('are you an amateur? No problem, you too can code with AI now').

Same goes for 'AI hallucinations', another term sugarcoating the fact that these models are unreliable.

This is no reflection on OP - I'm sure he means well - but it's a worrying industry trend where everyone just jumps on the AI bandwagon, with apparently little to no critical thinking.

To answer your question - they are investing time into building a vibe coding platform. The business model is a subscription tier service. This isn't the first company i've founded, I bring insights into design and the business end of things. Just would need technical expertise.

There is zero incentive to your business proposal. You will get more traction if you pay them for their time and expertise. Developers are inundated with proposals none of which pay the bills.

Equity is a quite a big incentive. Besides, we'll be looking at accelerators that provide a stipend to fund salaries.

It's happening all around you in startups. See YC Co-founder matching for example. People are driven and hungry. And yes, there will always be a solution for remuneration.

So to grab their attention, you will need a heck of a lot more than a vague request for co-founders and evasive answers to questions.

I'll take your advice on board. It's a little too early for investors, just looking for a solid co-founder. I'm scheduling calls with people so there is interest. First business, didn't scale, but ended up investing in a top tier VC fund and had secondary exits in the process.

People, sometimes when it comes to building startups rely on a personal savings runway to build something. I'm not asking for a salaried employee, i'm asking for a co-founder. It depends though.

But...

They don't need you. They could build and market the platform without you. If all you have to offer is experience of setting up a business that's disproportionate to the amount of effort the developer will have to put in.

Common advice goes against building on your own. You ideally need team members or co-founders with complementary skill sets. Investors rarely invest in solo founders.

That may be so but a developer keen to build a vibe coding platform still doesn’t need you.

You don’t have anything to attract a developer to join you. Sorry to be so blunt but your business idea isn’t going to work.

I am currently building something on just that basis, but I am very clear what my partner is bringing in - the sales skills I lack and a proven ability to bring in customers etc.

Look at it from your prospective of your "technical co-founders" point of view - why should they not be thinking "I could just do this by myself".

Ive had alot of these and alot of them turn out to be I have an idea build it for me.

What exactly do you bring to the table in terms of distributing it? How does it fit into its own niche? What else is out there that could be used as you intend? What do you expect demand to be?
