Small charity is commissioning a speaker for an event

She only ever gives a PO Box on her invoices (sole trader).

Should we care? We know her pretty well. Only possible reason we’d ever need to serve papers is if her reputation tanks and affects ours, in which case we’d invoke the mutual erasure clause in the contract. Highly unlikely but we’re in a sensitive field and you never know what might happen. It’s that sensitivity that probably means she prefers to use a PO Box.

In that extreme circumstance we could probably pay a PI to track her down. Reckon this is ok, or should we insist on a postal address?

    Thanks

Maybe she just wants to protect her home address. I don't see anything fishy in this, especially if she is just a speaker. A bit different if she owed you money and disappeared but I am guessing she gets paid after the gig, in which case the risk sounds low.
