Just discovered under the 'Members' heading that there is a section for Staff Members. It includes a number of long term members who I think are Moderators, rather than staff members. If so it is misleading.

I was curious who the current staff members are.

However, RPower is listed as a staff member, but actually left some time ago. So I lack certainty about the accuracy of data about other staff members ( and for that matter moderators)?

OWG is rarely around either. Nor is Faevilangel. And the US mod (Cornish Steve) hasn't been here since 2013!

Methinks a new set of mods may be needed.

    Hi chaps,

Keeping us on our toes as always. Thanks! We're literally in the process of updating that page. Will let you know the second it has been made live.

    Best,
    Francois

But what about the mods who aren't around anymore? Is it time for a review? For example, I do a lot of reporting early in the morning and it can take hours before a mod gets round to clearing out the cruft.

It might be worth getting an Indian moderator to curb the spam from that part of the world.

Or maybe moderators to just look after specific forums. This has been discussed many times in the feedback forum.

I am here, don't post as much but try and nip in every day :)

OWG hasn't been seen for a while (had stuff going on) and Steve went mia i think (busy with work etc)

There are potential problems with conflicts of interest if following that route unless the mods don't moderate forums in which they have an interest

We actually did discuss this and we unofficially do have forums we moderate e.g. I mainly do the it & internet, david did the accounting etc but having dedicated forum moderators is hard when we are volunteers, the time we are around fluctuates so think it's just better being the current system imho :)

I offered to be a moderator on the Magento forum a while ago but I can't recall how that conversation panned out anymore, I've got a feeling that I was told it isn't possible to assign moderators to particular forums in this forum software (I could be wrong and just dreamt that up though, I'd have to dig through loads of old PM's on here to find the conversation now).

I think that you did dream it as it's quite possible to assign moderators to specific forums in this software as I used to do it with another considerably larger forum running on the same software

Okay, so I checked, and was pretty much told that. It was "too complicated" to set permissions so that moderators were only moderating single forums/sub forums.

I do not view the forums by category but by latest posts and tend to take action when I find it, then look at the moderation queue!
