Depends how good you are. If your work generates £1000 of new business was each day then could charge £200/day

The best way to offer social media management as a freelancer is by having different monthly package options that you offer to the business, perhaps consider having 3 different options, for example:
Package A(£200)- X posts per month to X accounts
Package B(£300)- X posts per month to X accounts and PPC management
Package C (£500)(complete management)- X posts per month to X accounts, PPC management and inbox management.
I would recommend finding out about the clients business and requirements first, before offering your packages- as some people will just want you to post photos and a one line caption, others may want photoshopping and long detailed captions.

@AndyMuir9 - businesses don’t want X posts per month. They want leads and sales. Rather than offer a number of posts, Would it not be better to offer a fee based on the number of clicks or whatever. Otherwise you could end up paying for something that adds no value. If I just want 200 posts per month I can get a sausage factory in India to churn these out for a few dollars.

I would avoid charging based on results, as:
- It makes everything unnecessarily complex
- Less reliable income stream for yourself
- And even though results are easier to track through social media, it's impossible to know exactly how many clients you have generated

Build their social media presence up through regular and engaging posts that reach their target market and provide regular detailed analytical reports, so that the business can see the impact.

I don’t know. I’m a business owner. I’m looking for an ROI on my marketing spend so I’d expect to see really great leads from your posts. Which means I’d rather pay you to do all the research to identify the right platform, the target client and then start posting. If you are good at what you do I’d expect to start seeing targeted traffic land on my website. From there I can track conversions. It’s your job to get me those leads.
I had someone say they could do some SMM for me. So we did a trial and in one month I didn’t get a single lead. Do you have a website? Do you have case studies showing how your work resulted in new leads? That’s what a business owner wants. If not then I’d rather spend the money on PPC because I know that works.

Majority of our digital marketers are employed, but we have a small pool of freelancers that we work with, to meet sudden spikes in demand.

I'd personally like to use something that is related to results. Potentially consider a prediction that you expect to hit, with a get-out clause for the client if you don't meet that.
I run a small business and certaintly wouldn't want to pay without at least a link to the results predicted.
You also might want to tailor is by size of company/how challenging the market is.

Ha Ha It makes some big money son because it is one of the most SEOed courier sites in the county
30 years of running a business so no experience with accounting/accountants/financial services what so ever. Never heard of it Dont understand

I like the idea of creating packages, it gives your clients a choice and this also gives them an idea of what you'll be producing for them. Great shout.
