Just wondering if anyone's had much success shipping parcels to Russia? RM taking over 30 days for a single parcel and DHL not doing particularly better either.

Yes royal mail are ok - but have the parcel only a day or two.
Local delivery service is slow. I figure minimum of 3 weeks when customers ask.

Your delivery address is in Russian?

The last one that got held in customs so we figured this was the issue although the correct documents were included, it did have the address in English as supplied by the customer. Do you think sending it in Russian would make a big difference then?

Shipping to Russia has always been challenging. Whilst shipments can move quickly up to the arrival point, clearance, security issues and local delivery is notoriously slow, unless you're lucky. B2B shipments usually fare better than B2C ones.

We don't ship to Russia.

We did, for a while, using FEDEX, but they stopped taking Russian shipments, so we stopped offering it.

I don't know whether they have reinstated the service again. When they did, the deliver times were OK, but of course vary enormously. Russia is a big place. Some bits of it take a while to get a parcel to.

We have had many items shipped from Russia it's not plain sailing like other countries but there is a system to it.

The Russians send our goods through EMS. As the value is of over a threshold it then goes through parcelforce system and UPS handle the customs clearance. Start to finnish takes about 16 days. Done maybe 35 shipments this way in 2 years but we keep value on low side hence so many shipments.

Russia to North America EMS - extremely long.

Believe they use EMS to avoid permits required to ship using non russian couriers.

I have used them with a fair degree of success for delivering a large consignment using Maersk logistics. Not sure for retail quantities though
