RM Click and Drop and EU VAT

I asked a similar question in another thread but no one responded, so, in hope, ...

B2B but not large enough to have an RM business account.

Have always shipped DDU by RM and, more recently, DHL but DHL have "temporarily" suspended their Global Mail service to the EU.

The RM website now insists on collecting VAT, etc., for shipments to the EU. There's no DDU option.

Can anyone tell me does the recipient get a useful VAT invoice from RM on delivery, that can be used to support their VAT reclaim?

Another thought.

If the VAT is collected by RM through the click and drop website and paid to the appropriate EU country, am I allowed to issue a VAT invoice to the customer?

OK, forget that. It seems there is actually an option for the recipient to pay the fees.

I don't know why I didn't see it last time I shipped to the EU.

Should have gone to Specsavers instead of Asda.
