HI -

We currently have a mobile number as a support number that points to one persons mobile.

We now have various customers overseas and need to broaden our out of hours support. I think either a landline and/or an 03* would be most appropriate.

Has anyone any experience in this? Any advise or tips you can share please?

We would probably have a mobile phone that is the 'on call' phone for voice calls and email support.

Its worth noting that volume is almost non-existent and demand isnt likely to be very high going forward

Hi Sparrow,

We've found that many of our customers like to keep their mobile number private and forward calls from an 01/02 or 03 number to it. This allows you to control when/if calls are routed to your mobile and which mobile they're sent to while maintaining a slightly more professional image.

Dial 9 charge £1.50/month plus the cost of any calls (at 2.5p/minute) for this service plus you get £5 free credit so you can have a play with it for a month or so to see how you get on.

I'm happy to discuss further. Feel free to PM me or give me a call on 01202 912444.

All the best;
Adam

Yes via VOIP will give greatest flexibility in the future.

It needn't necessarily be divert to mobile for which you will pay call costs. One of the delights of VOIP is that you can connect a hardware or software phone wherever you have an internet connection and become that extension.

Do choose a supplier that is a member of ITSPA, it gives you and your number some protections in case of difficulties.

You have various options with calls going to a VoIP phone (mobile app), mobile or call answer service. If it is for overseas clients I would stay away from an 03 number due the fact that not all overseas carriers will connect the calls so an 01/02 number should be good or you could consider country specific numbers if you want to impress your clients.

Thanks folks. I enquired with our existing telephone provider who tell me I can forward calls to a mobile free of charge. Looks like that will be my best option.
