Hi, looking for companies that deal with online reputation management. Thanks

Hi,

I'm not going to be too open about the things we do for clients, but the best ways to deal with negative online reviews are:

1) firstly, bad reviews are an opportunity to improve your business
2) Respond Promptly and sympathise
3) Try and take the issue offline or into email (so it becomes private)
4) If you think the review is just someone trying to hurt your business, contact the review site

Those are a few tips, It would be great to talk to you personally to see if we could help you

We've successfully taken down defamatory reviews from 3rd party review websites but never Google ones. It's a matter of contacting the webmaster of the review website and stating your case. Obviously we have a process for this, template emails ready to go and so on, to save time. If the reviews are genuine though it's best to encourage your clients to leave reviews by simply asking them to. Clients come to us when they have a few bad reviews and they immediately want them to be removed but, trust me, the best policy is to build that level of protection and be proactive before this happens - i.e. encourage your clients to leave reviews. Ultimately, online reviews should reflect what people think of your business.

If you need our help with online reputation management (ORM) then PM me.

The OP hasn't mentioned Google reviews specifically. There are various ways of dealing with this but it depends on how it's affecting the business. Are the reviews showing up in Google search results? Are they on FB page? Etc. Different ways of dealing with different situations.

Here is what you want to do:
  • Create a positive & active presence on all major communications channels
  • Watch closely as new information populates (Set up an alarm)
  • Strategically increase the value and placement of positive content (content/link building/new reviews)
  • Aggressively move negative content out of the way (content/link building/new reviews)
  • Diversify your presence to maximize positive content (stack your channels)
  • Keep online information fresh and up to date (hire a copywriter and keep a high frequency with high quality)
  • Monitor your position and health against competition
  • Synchronize marketing efforts

Has no one heard of dilution or recency?

A ton of positive reviews in the present can do more to mitigate the situation than chasing the elusive unhappy customer, who is often a competitor or disgruntled ex employee - and thus is a waste of your valuable time.
