I'm an environmental consultant, manage my own Google ads and have got it to a pretty good place. Too good in fact, as I'm now swamped with work. I'm cautious about pausing the ads as I know this will put it into a month long re-learning phase when I do want to use it again, but I also don't want to be paying for advertising I don't currently need. I'd say more than 60% of my work comes from existing customers and word of mouth, so I expect to have a more manageable quantity of work without Google. But if things do slow down I could then be a month without work. I'm continuing to gradually reduce my budget. I'm just not sure it's worth having at all at this point and not quite brave enough to turn it off.
Wondering if anyone else has paused ads and then had a nightmare, or have stopped their google ads entirely and never looked back?
