Hi. My business rate valuation is very high at 26k. I am in a location where it used to be a good location (prime) but there is a new complex which has seen all the shops relocate and left my part of the town the back end.

This opened in 2020 so it's been five years.

Is it possible to get these rates on a revaluation ?. I have seen companies offering to do this for a fee.

Anybody with any successful story's,.
My rent for the entire years is 15k ex vat.

There's nothing stopping you doing this yourself you can login into your business rates account and make a case. Details like footfall data in your area (if you have a town centre manager check with them for details) changes to parking, access routes / roads, effects to your year on year turnover etc. Don't forget though the business rates are based on the rent.

I can possibly recommend an agent to help you, although they may advise it's best to get someone local, depending on where it is. DM me for details.

Word is the VOA have a massive backlog so are beginning to wave things through without site visits. You do need to have evidence to support your claim though, with evidence they will accept as such. Surveyors often do it no win, no fee, so you might not have to shell out up front if you choose to instruct one.
