I do some work for a hire company who hire on a daily or weekly basis with example product being

    £40 for 1 day
    £52 for 2 days
    £68 for 3 days
    £80 for a week

Is it fair to say the prices is from under £12.00 a day

It’s pretty much standard practice wherever you go. Umpteen billboards around here offering hire cars from £23/day when the chances of getting one for that price is virtually nil.

Accepted practice I guess, but a byline (when hired for 7 days) could save buyer and sellers time?

£80/7 - £11.43 so, yes, that is perfectly fair.

I'd say it's not only fair but common practice, especially for 'hire' products/services.

I sell in various quantities, simplified as 1 box £20, 5 boxes £17 each, 10 boxes £15 each. So my prices from is the £17 each mid range item, not the most expensive, not the cheapest, but the most commonly paid price. Google picks up this mid-range price, and shows as prices from. Hopefuly customers are satisfied the price reflects their expectations.

The problem with tool hire is a lot of people hire for a day or 2 so want to know the day rate.

It may OK saying prices from under £12 a day in marketing and promotions but it still needs to be clear that it is £40 a day for those only hiring for a day.

You just need to look at how other companies do it!

You need to consider that people only glance at advert so maybe belter to state "weekly hire at £17 per day" could save time on phone complaints where it states £40 per day
