Hi, I am creating a site for a company, who have a range of past clients. If we put the logos of the clients up, without permission, will we be breaking a law? Anything wrong there?

I think if it's their trademarks it's their copyright and if you wish to use the logo you should seek their approval.

I agree with this, but even if its not a trademark its still best to seek approval just to make sure that it is okay with clients and past clients

Cheers

Generally, companies are ok with it (and might insist on a link) - but it really pays to cover your back and ask first. :)

a trademark doesn't always have to be registered to be classed as a tradmark iirc - if a company has been using a logo for a few years then they can claim ownership of it
