To work alongside my childrens make-over parties I would like to run a seperate business offering childrens party bags. I would not like to stock a huge range for money and stock purposes.

I offer party bags as an optional extra to my parties and they seem to be popular.

My question is how would i aim to market these. Are there any rules and regulations regarding party bags. Does anyone know of any wholesale websites offering party goods. I would prefer to offer quality goods in the bags. My thoughts were princess and pirate party bags. ie tiaras and wands, then pirate hat, patch and tattoo etc.

Any thoughts or ideas on whether it is worth the effort and expense. Anyone out there already running this kind of business.

I would prefer just to keep it a local business and not offer across uk. I would like to make it personal and do delivery myself.

Help appreciated

Hi Shellie

We run a company called Monster Parties and we supply many thousands of party bags each month direct to the public through our main website as well as to the trade.

Depending on volume we can offer pre-filled bags to your requirements or you can choose from our standard range of over 120 types. We work with the trade in a number of different ways which includes a 'white label' service where you can order from us on behalf of your customer and we can deliver to them using plain labels so your customer thinks you have supplied it.

Have a look at our website.

I am sales manager for a company that supplies pre-filled party bags, party supplies and themed party goods to play centres all over the uk and Ireland so we do what you are looking to do but probably on a much grander scale although we are trying to break in to the domestic market and we could probably supply you with some goodies to put in your bags. We have just launched a website which shows both trade and retail costs but having loads of difficulty promoting it. If anyone has any advice I would be grateful.

A lot of playcentres are failing at the moment. Is this business too risky due to competition, bad management or what...?

Hi
You could try a wholesale toy company called Playwrite. They're minimum order is £50.00 and you can buy toys from them from as little as 6p.
They do tiaras and pirate stuff as well as lots of little plastic toys perfect for party bags.

Purchase some kind of small holiday bag at the store. Get enough for each child in your child's classroom. In the bag you can include pieces of candy and an age appropriate toy. Use a piece of ribbon to tie the bag closed and then put your business card or a coupon on the outside of it.
