Parcelforce is driving me nuts.....

I have an account and have to use parcelforce.net which is the worst piece of software ever.

I HAVE to use internet explorer 8 - Safari, Firefox and Opera do not display correctly or allow printing of the label.

The software is set to print immediately, however a pop up box always appears with the message
This document is trying to print. Do you want to allow this?

which I then have to click, yes, then adobe PDF shows the label, which I have to manually close each time.

Am I missing something, Am I the only one having these problems, is there a workaround so that I can use a different browser.

HELP PLEASE !!

Hi,

Have you tried to check adobe is the latest version? Unfortunately as far I am aware the Parcelforce.net will only work with IE.

Usually the Parcelforce technical team are very good with support queries.

We don't use the .net portal you are referring to instead we use the Parcelforce API and our order management system automatically provides the order and the shipping label together.

This is a common problem with a lot of software packages out there.

It requires that your browser uses adobe acrobat to view the pdf labels and also requires that your adobe is configured to trust the PF certificate which allows the PDF access to your printer so it can print automatically without opening the print dialog.

You need to give adobe specific instructions to trust pdfs from a particular website, allowing them access to the printer.

There are other courier provider solutions out there which will allow you to book your parcels in a much quicker and easier fashion. You can also gain better rates too.

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, all tried, none work....

the print/ submit button at the end doesn't function in anything except I.E
Even tried using firefox as IE - but nothing

The Parcelforce WDM system is only compatible with IE. It's not Parcelforces system or software which is causing the problem in fact it's your security settings within IE and adobe.

so what do I need to change ?

both I.E and adobe have parcelforce.net as a trusted site, is there something thats not ticked somewhere

help us out please :)

Hi

I wish i could tell you exactly what to do, as i remember having the same problem as you a few years ago! But we resolved it on the phone to PF Technical support. Its been a year since we used the WDM online portal as we now have our labels automatically produced via Linnworks.

Sorry.

as an update
by putting the correct path to Internet explorer in allows it to work.

internet explorer is set to this path on your computer ----- my computer -> program files -> internet explorer. It actually needs to point to this file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" which means it prints straight away. Hope that helps someone who is having a similar problem.

Geoff, do you use the WDMO system for Parcelforce?

If you do, we use it and I have no problems with Firefox. Admittedly I don't have the print automatically button checked as we print to a office printer with labels in tray 2 so I have to manually choose the right tray but it works 100% of the time fine.
