This has just come back round to us in a different way.
We had an oversized surcharge where they're saying a 25mm PIP box was 105mm. The delivery photo shows it being put through a letterbox so there is no way it was 105mm. No big deal, happens all the time, I file surcharge disputes almost every week, should be an easy win.
But this time Royal Mail upheld the surcharge and their "evidence" is a top down photo from the conveyor which has the rolling shutter distortion and in this case it's making the box look much thicker than it is.
We all know that Royal Mail have top and side photos of everything and there is no way this staff member didn't see both photos. They chose to only send me the distorted one to try and trick me.
And then out of curiosity I opened the image in a text editor to see what metadata was in there and it's all been stripped.
So the only thing Royal Mail has changed since I won my dispute with them is learn how to cover their tracks so that others can't catch also them out.
