Hi

Just curious as to what the rest of you guys would do if a customer contacted you after nine months to suddenly decide they haven't received their order?

Stu

Absolutely nothing, if they have taken 9 months to send an email then they are not that bothered

If that was the first time I had heard about it, I was be a little suspicious and thinking scam. If I order something, I would expect it to arrive within 2 weeks of paying for it and would be straight on the phone asking where it was. I wouldn't wait 9 months and then get in touch by email.

It was £7.99 and sold through Amazon.

In the past I have had a couple of people contact after a couple of months, but anything after that I just think it far, far to long!

You need to have something or kind of document to prove it was sent - Royal mail provide proof of posting for free. You can make a claim if it does not get their upto a set limit.

Who cares?
For £7.99 resend, refund or say get stuffed - whatever you feel like doing. It isn't worth worrying about or seeking advice over.

tell him you sent it - but wait wait nine months before you respond.
more seriously, If he just emailed you then ignore it. if he took 9 months to follow up a missing order he might not be even bother chase you up again about it

Let him send a proof, positive communication with him, I think maybe he needs you to answer these questions, but nine months is indeed too long, contrary to common sense.

Check what the law states on the matter. Your own terms and conditions do not mean anything if they dont comply to laws and regulations

In practical terms the buyer can do nothing. It is past the A-Z claim period for Amazon, it is past the chargeback period for any debit or credit card.

Other than generously offering a refund (if you choose) you can do nothing either. You cannot claim it is lost and claim a refund from the carrier, you cannot do any kind of track/trace.

I have just had this situation from a german customer who claims his early December 2010 christmas present order did not arrive. I said I could do nothing after so long.
