Hello,

I am new to SEO. I recently joined a company to do SEO. The previous marketing executive who worked there had done SEO in such a way that the company page was far away on Google search.

I started working on SEO and in a couple of months our company page came up to 1st page.

After this, I did not update SEO for about a month and now I see that the pages have gone to 2,3, or far more pages away. Though I am consistently changing content and META data now, I finding it very hard to get it back to page one.

Is SEO a continuous process? how often does the page need to be updated to be on the page 1? Does all companies maintain SEO updates regularly to be on page 1?

Can someone please explain and suggest what needs to be done. Please help.

If you are new to the company a good idea is to have a chat with sales. Try to find who answers the phone and ask them what people who call ask for. This is not always brands or your own inhouse terms. An example might be "white gloss" in the catalog but people who phone might tend to say "white paint" You are looking for unique terms and phases used by your customers to find what they need.

When you have them, get them into your site high up, use them as headers if possible and in your meta keyword, site title and description.

Next with the back links you get, use them there too.

As websitehandyman suggested, keyword anchor text is essential.

Firstly, fix any broken links, duplicate content, or canonical issues on your site.

Secondly, figure out the keywords you want to target, and add them in to your on-page SEO (Title tag, H1 etc)

And thirdly, get those links!! Aim for a 'diverse' mix of links, from every source you can think of. Most SEO's would push relevance., relevance is great when you can get it, but so are other links and you should not discount them.

Should only take a couple of weeks, and you'll be back at the top.

SEO is a constant continual process that needs to be done regularly to maintain the current keyword ranking position & to rank high.Once you have stopped doing seo, your competitors will rank high and your keyword rank will dip. So, It is necessary to do SEO on a regular basis to rank high the keyword & to maintain the current keyword position.

Make sure onpage SEO is correct, with keywords in H1, H2 and H3 tags, make keyword first and last words on the page, hyperlinked to inner pages.

Add an "alt=keyword" tag to images and ensure you have 3-4% keyword density in your webpage.

Make any external links no follow ( rel=nofollow)

Then once this is done, make sure the site's sitemap is updated using xml sitemap generator on google and then add it to your google webmaster central account and then you are ready to go and concentrate on off page SEO - backlink building.

Yes SEO is the on going process and one need to be continuous in the process of getting the results. And as if you do not made any kind of change then due to other's try you have get your site position back in the results. And as now after the panda update , it has be more necessary to update the site and content frequently as you get it. As now google is going to show the results as per the recent & authorised and old & authorised. So now you have to make more effort to get the site position again.

TBH Backlinks are pretty overrated. You do need a constant flow but dont bother with spammy links focus on quality, high pr ones as well as some squidoo pages, wordpress pages and some other ones such as hubs. Other then that its as simple as making sure your keyword density is solid, your general onpage seo is solid, 303 redirects, quality content (content is king), appropriate meta tags such as keywords and header etc.

Other then that presuming your targeting england I would reg with google webmaster tools and change your crawl rate higher along with making your targeted country the UK.

Do a google search, if your keywords are in your title, , description and url as a bonus then your doing ok also check if your site is sandboxed as the seo company could of used blackhat spam tactics which do work but usually make you google dance like crazy for a while.

Along with the above, steady bank linking and time you should take the ranks. ive got numerous websites and seo really isnt a wizard topic once you get into it. Read it up and google anything you dont understand and you will end up on the right track.

Hello, Yes SEO is a continuous process. You should works on daily basis in Backlinks. Directory submission is important for increase one websites Page Rank and Site Traffic but Forum Posting and Backlinks are working faster than Directory submissions. Backlinks and Directory submissions both are very important terms in Off Page SEO. Directory submission will work mainly to increase one pages Traffic and Visitors. To increase ones site Page Rank and Traffic one should use both Backlink and Directory submissions properly.

SEO is a continuous process and you can’t just stop doing it once you achieve the first position for your targeted keywords. Because more and more websites and competitors are launching new websites and hence competitors are increasing and you need to put more effort than before in your SEO process to outrank those competitors and maintain your position in search engine.

Well, if your competitors are following a SEO campaign then yes it's a continuous process. It's relative.

The RankWarrior product you are advertising - can you pay by paypal in GBP?
Are you the creator? Thinking of using it.

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I don't get on this forum much. The rules of the forum don't allow me to directly promote my company, but if you drop me a pm I will answer any questions you may have.

I am not saying that you are a scam, because I am sure you will deliver the links you promise. Its just as other posters have pointed out, backlinks are sometimes overrated when it come to their impact.

Caveat emptor as they say.

Before I started RankWarrior, I spent a lot buying link packages, some were a total rip off and had no effect, others had amazing instant results.

Even now I still buy packages from other companies, and test out what works. That way I can see what they are doing and can constantly improve my own service.

It's down to doing a bit of background research really, and whether a company can prove themselves with client rankings and their own.

regards
David

Check your webmaster tools, rectify the errors that you see there and jsut start with normal campaign, dont worry much it happens but there is nothing irreparable.
