Hi everyone,
I am new to the community so I would like to say hello and introduce myself. I own and run Nikki Hesford Business Academy (please give me a like on Facebook)
I start up, grew and exited a fashion label from 2008 to 2015, before taking some time out to enjoy my new baby and a slower pace of life! I went on to work in senior manager roles in FTSE100 companies and medium sized brands, helping with all things sales, marketing and commercial.
My specialism is fashion/beauty/consumer product businesses but I also work with small sole trader businesses with all things from product dev, to manufacture, to Facebook marketing, to websites, apps. I guess I'm a bit like a commercial director/marketing director you can hire for a short time, for a smaller cost, without committing to the whole package!
I have a lot of clients who just book me for half a day (£175) or full day (£300) every quarter, and in that time we keep them on track, keep their forecasts up to date, make sure they're executing the strategy we put in place, basically give them a kick up the bum and keep them on track. I also stay in touch by email between meetings at no extra cost.
Other clients like to have me on a retainer (usually costs around £200-300 a month) and for that I'm like their part time business partner - they will ask me all sorts of questions from 'is this website proposal reasonable??' to 'how do I register to SEIS?' to 'Can I put my lunch through my books at this exhibition?' - having someone on hand who knows a little bit about everything, and a lot about something (sales/marketing!) who you can Whatsapp for a quick reply at 9pm at night is a valuable support to a lot of businesses who operate by themselves.
