Would you believe it was actually caused by a damp housing trust flat. Who kept telling me I had 'too much furniture'. I had piss all, I was skint, working for my dad who paid me below the NI and tax threshold. My husband was disabled and worked 6 days on, 6 days off. Too much furniture ffs.
When my baby son was diagnosed asthmatic at just under a year old the council finally housed us, but I have had more than 5 operations on my nose because of it, I have asthma which is under very good control unless I have an aspergillous flare up, then I need steroids, I have had no sense of smell for 30 years because of it, and last year was diagnosed with bronchiectasis because of it.
There is absolutely no excuse for social housing to be so bad that it creates damp, and for landlords to ignore it or blame tenants. It;s really no joke, if someone is in a damp council flat, especially will small children, they need help to get out , or get it fixed, not judgements.
